I absolutely and completely loved this book. Dare I say, it was better than the first one? It has that Criminal Minds feel with a supernatural component, and those are the kinds of stories I like best. The pacing, action, and characters were all fantastic. Again, Tara reminded me of Emily from Criminal Minds and Harry reminded me of Cho from The Mentalist. The villain was really interesting as well, even if his method of killing was gross. And, yes, there had to be descriptions of it. Okay, bring on the next installment!

Finished it in about a day. The book has a great plot and full characters, but it's written so clinically.... I'm glad it was short. It felt less like a novel and more like a piece of academic writing or a 200+ page newspaper article. It was very cold, somehow. That said, I did enjoy it and think the way it was written lends itself well to the subjects with which the story dealt. There's a lot of talk of detachment and divorcing oneself from one's actions - and that's exactly how the book reads, so perhaps it was an intentional choice. No spoilers here, but the plot trumps the writing style 100 fold. I think the way it read may have been due to the book being a translation.

Oh my goodness! It was a roller coaster ride of a soap opera - action - teenage romance. It had everything in it - vampires, werewolves, angels, demons, flying motorcycles. And just when you thought that was it - wait - there was MORE!!! GUYS even like these books. That's why I read it. I have to be informed, you know. This should be a show on what channel? The WB? Is that even still around?
