It feels like Walker decided to use everything he found in his research, rather than do some trimming that would have made the narrative a bit less meandering. This meandering and the overall style undermine "the feud" aspect; especially since it felt like there were "oh, wait, I need to mention the feud!" moments. As some of the other reviewers mention, it does read a bit like a weaker version of Brunellesci's Dome, which I found the more interesting read overall.

So I just finished reading Hush, Hush this weekend. And I must say that I am still slightly confused. First it was a quick easy read. I did get into the action and the building relationship between Nora and Patch. But my head was spinning trying to keep up with fallen angels, archangels and guardian angels. Not to mention Nephilim. Plus the entire book I was waiting for word on God's view of the whole situation. If you are going to write about angels, you have to at least mention God. Another problem with the book is the conveniently absent single parent. Nora's mom works out of town most of the week, so no one is there to watch over Nora. Of course she gets in trouble and starts dating the mysterious bad boy. I did enjoy the humor from Vee and her relationship with Nora. I did find the book compelling and went on to read the sequel.

Schon wieder sehr interessant. Er antwortet Fragen wie warum der Rhein männlich ist und die Mosel weiblich ist, Herkunfte Wörter, und warum alles gewechselt ist. Vielleicht weil ich Sprachen so gern lernt finde ich sowas interessant, aber ich finde es wirklich spannend. Ich habe auch solche Bücher auf Englisch gelesen und die interessieren mich auch.

My ten year old daughter recommended this book to me. She had the author, J. Scott Savage, come to her school for an assembly. We also had the opportunity of meeting him at a Barnes & Noble Meet-N-Greet. He is a very personable man and the girls enjoyed meeting him. I enjoy reading juvenile fiction, especially when it comes to reading what my children are reading. We have had some very fun book discussions. This is a fantasy novel about a "handicapped" boy who finds himself in another world where magic is common and chocolate milkshakes are not. He is the key to a prophesy and could possibly be the one to not only save Farworld, but also Earth itself. I loved the concept, the characters, and the humor. It is a nice, light read, suitable for all ages.

Oooooh....dragons. Quinn was such a unique character for me. The fact that he's a blacksmith in modern day was so...cool. That he's a dragon shifter? Even cooler. I loved the chemistry between him and Sarah. The series is unique even though dragons seem to be the in thing a few years ago. I have questions about the dragon's history but I'm looking forward to finding out the answers. Although some of it feels predictable: they feel the firestorm and know they're going to find their mate and then when it's over they've knocked up the girl. Where's the conflict going to be in the relationship? How will there be a black moment? These things I need to find out...so yeah...I'll be reading more.
