I wasn't sure about this book at first, but the more I read, the more I liked it. Kyle(Adrian)was a total turn-off in the beginning, but as he slowly changed, I fell for him. By the end he was a total sweetheart. Beastly was also a good refresher about looking beyond the surface, something we all know, but sometimes forget to do. I just hope the movie keeps pretty close to the book, or at least does it justice. But you know how that goes...

This book is a very easy read. I read it in one day. However Aisha is definitely in touch w/ women in the gen-x era. She is funny, smart and opinionated. She's brash and doesn't hold back. I loved this book.

Rating should be 4.5 Watch Me is about a college freshman, Ally, who is going to star in a reality for the fall semester. She will be rooming with four strangers and followed by cameras 24/7. Her boyfriend,Corey, is going to a far off college and she has to manage the long-distance relationship along with everything else. At first, she has everything under control. Then, Corey and Ally begin to shift apart while Ally is drawn to Drew, one of her roommates. People she thought were friends betray her for their chance in the spotlight. Now, not only does she have to try and juggle her problems, but she has to do it while all of America is watching. I loved Watch Me. It was brilliantly written. The characters were likable and fun to read about. The style of writing was modern and refreshing. Ally was a good female lead. She was neither a doormat nor a shrew, the categories in which so many YA heroins seem to fall into. Drew was so sweet, not to mention deliciously good-looking.I adored him. Corey, while I could definitely see why he and Ally were drifting apart, was a well-represented character and I loved the element he brought to the story. I loved how the book brought in some elements of a reality show without making it the only aspect of the story, which would have lessened its value (no offense to anyone, but I don't like reality TV). It added a unique touch to an already amazing story, creating that constant sliver of tension because the characters knew that they were being watched and judged by millions of people. *SPOILER* My one complaint is that Ally and Corey seemed to drift apart and let go too easily for a couple that was together for two years. That aspect of the story wasn't entirely believable. Other than that, this book was perfection.

Maybe this book should get 4 stars. I just don't think I will recommend it to anyone. The book is very well written, real characters with such clear emotion and heart-breaking stories. Just too much heart break in the book for me. The book is about the residents of a small town in Maine. Each chapter describes a different family or group of friends, with Olive Kitteridge, the main character, who shows up in every chapter and has several chapters devoted just to her and her family. She is a described in such real terms, very believable actions, and not particularly likeable a lot of the time. I was moved by the writing and will not soon forget these stories.

To be honest, I liked the movie better--I felt the book was too long for its story, although the moving patience and endurance of love and humanity are just brilliant in both.

This was a very fun book. I loved the description - the imagery was compelling and the story line was created perfectly. I am planning on working through the rest of the series, but if I like the rest as much as I enjoyed the first, I anticipate it will be a series added to my personal library.

A riveting combination of Christianity and Science. A tale of the possible future. Through science and technology and using the DNA of Jesus, a clone is created and a child has been chosen by God to be the mother of his son. If only it were true. I especially enjoyed the portions of the book where the Catholic Church will do anything to stop this event...including murder. At all costs, whether right or wrong, they and other religions chose to protect their way of life as it is today rather than face the possibility of a single man (like Jesus) to create a single faith (church) in today's world. Fantastic read.
