Gorgeous, amazing talents, reads minds, he is also a vampire that is stuck in a teenage body, and his name is Edward Collin. He has to run away from the sun and when the weather gets nice he has to go away for a little while. Bella a teenage girl that moves to Phoenix from Forks to go live with her father while her mother goes on a road trip. This book is a very mind-spelling book, has a tone, amazing adventures, and heartbreaking struggles. Tone, great speaking, accents and very wordy. Adventure, woods, running away. Struggles, vampires, dream. The tone of this book is a very catchy one because of how everything is laid out for the tone. In the book Bella is on her way to Forks it’s raining, she is in the car with her father, wanting to be back home with her mother because she just doesn’t adjust right. “ Looking out into the dark clouds wondering what her life is going to be like here in Forks” Everyday in this book has a different tone, from weather, to what the tone is like in school. The tone is very in depth and makes the book very interesting. Adventure in the book Twilight is amazing. From playing lighting baseball, to jumping from tree to tree to get on the top one. There wasn’t one chapter were there wasn’t any adventure even if is was something small, like Edward coming out of nowhere to rescue Bella from the guys trying to attack her. “ Where did you come from, how did you get to me right away, were you stalking me?” Bella always was outgoing for adventures Edward had for her and she loved to go on them, because she wanted to be one of them Struggles, great, mind spelling, also a lot like dreams. In the book they have to deal with the vampires that suck human blood don’t go after Bella, but they do. “ She is with us, she is part of this family, because she is a part of Edwards life.’’ At the end of the book the bad vampire told Bella he had her mother, a lie, but she went to him. The ending of this book had me on my toes wondering what was going to happen next. The struggles were another big part of this book because the struggles made the whole thing and kept one interested. Vampires, great book, innocent teenage girl, and a beautiful love story. Edward is an amazing character that is very protective of his love and his family. Also he is a hero to Bella Swan and she is in love with him. They found each other and never want to lose him. All of the twilights saga books are like this if you didn’t read this book you should, then you will want to read them all.

من النادر أن نقرأ كتاباً يحمل كل تلك الالتباسات و الفلسفلة العميقة اتجاه الخفة و الثقل وما هو الجيد لنا ؟ وهل يكون الثقل سيئاً حقاً في كل حالاته ؟ إن ميلان كونديرا صاغ أفكاره بأسلوب سردي لم يخلو من براعة في اداء النص و طرح المواضيع الشتى في حياة أبطاله كحياة الدكتور توماس مثلاً المتقلبه و التي أصبحت تدور كعجلة سريعة من مرحلة إلى اخرى ، و الإجتياح الروسي ، و الشيوعية و ما كان تؤثر فيه على عقول الناس ، و العلاقات الغرامية و الخيانة المستمرة المريرة التي ما لبثت ان انتهت بعد وقت طويل. إن كتابة رواية كهذه يتطلب جهداً ووقتاً كما تحتاجه لقراءتها أيضاً و الشعور بالخفة معها.

This book was chosen for my book club and while I thought the premise was interesting--I just could not like the author even though he had so many obstacles to overcome. Perhaps it was because there were so many conservative/spiritual themes running through the book...rediscovering God, family values in a conventional 'mom stays at home, dad works' kind of way. I don't know--those overarching themes made it hard for me to appreciate the better parts of the book.

I've tried to read this book many times, but failed to get moving or interested. I imagine, as I look back on finally finishing it, that is was meant to read it now, not then. Very close to my heart and fitting to the patterns of growth in my life presently, this has been a joyful, challenging, exciting read.

I would highly recommend this book to any comic strip fan. I first heard of the strip when I saw Bill Watterson had given it such a favourable review, I checked out a few and found myself laughing out loud - the first time a comic strip has had this effect on me for years. I have to admit, Cul De Sac is a strip which perhaps does need to grow on you, especially the loose, blotchy drawings which I love now - but didn't initially. The strip is based around the activities of a 4 year old, but manages to avoid all the potential cliches. Richard Thompson himself pointed this out in a recent interview: "Calvin's little sneakers are big shoes to follow, and don't even try to fill them. Watterson pretty much permanently defined a hyperactively imaginative 6-year-old, who is, of course, the perfect occupant of a comic strip. Children fit into a comic strip remarkably well, especially those of small stature but vivid personality. Watterson's genius was to not only create a particularly vivid kid, but to make that kid's imagination the other character in the strip." And this is what's great about Cul De Sac, that Richard Thompson has managed to create his own genuine and unique form of humour without resorting to any of the 'kid-day-dreams-then-wakes-up' jokes. Much of the strips humour comes from Alice's interaction with new things and experiences, her brother Peter's neurosis and the day to day activities of Alice's friends at her kindergarten. The strip's suburban setting is also instantly identifiable for the millions of readers who live in the suburbs themselves. I could go on about the brilliance of this strip all day, but it'd be better if you just went and read it yourself or even better bought the first collection. It's an amazing strip and you'll love it.
