At the beginning of this book I was intrigued. It was a very creative and original storyline and it kept me interested. After about page 75 I still couldnt even guess where the story was going....all the characters and plots were not fitting together for me. From there it just drug on and on. It took way to long to intertwine and connect all the subplots and figure out how it came together. She writes beautifully...except for the fact that she throws in " F*** " about 15 times in the most random spots! So unecessary. And her style of having 4 or 5 completely different stories going on and then finally combining them at the end just didn't work well for me.

Just as good the second time around!! Brilliant!! Amazing!! SUPER-MEGA-AWESOME!! Yes, this book, is awesome. Finally we have a female protagonist who is able to turn herself into a strong, capable, smart leader. And a guy who isn't a complete sap and who repsects her enough to realise just how capable she is. And together they make a true partnership. The ultimate team. Real! This book is fast paced, holds no punches, and makes no apologies. Veronica Roth is a fearless writer who isn't afraid to makes some pretty tough choices in the face of destruction. It made me want to be strong too. And go to the gym to pump some iron! Lol Beatrice is definitely a girl to look up to. I cannot wait for Insurgent next year!! April 28th can't come soon enough! :D

First thing by Bradbury I've ever read and I was not disappointed. I really enjoy his writing style and his futuristic short stories from this volume were great, I especially enjoyed The Veldt and Zero Hour since the idea of sinister children is always fun.

I loved this book when I was a kid and the movie made me cry like a baby....and a bit afraid of bunnies.

I stayed up all night finishing this book and still vividly remember it 15 years later. It was amazing.

This is THE book about THE person who made New York City what it is today. Caro makes bond issuances, NYC agencies, and the Long Island Expressway utterly enthralling. Also, this is a good book to use to intimidate your fellow subway riders. I recommend chopping this mother in half, applying some ducttape. and reading it in two volumes, otherwise your arms are going to get sore trying to hold this thing in one hand and a subway pole in the other...

The World Jones Made was a great sci-fi book from the 1950's, although some of it is a bit dated. Told from the point of view of Cussick, a member of the Fedgov's secret police in a world where it's a crime to tell people what to do or what to think. Or as one of the characters says of growing up: ". . .It was quite revolutionary; many of us had never heard of the multiple-value system. The idea that everybody might be right, that everybody was entitled to his own way of life, had a startling effect on us. The Hoff concept of personal style of living . . . it was exciting. Neither religious dogma nor anti-religious dogma; no more wrangling over which interpretation of the sacred texts was correct. No more sects, splinter groups, factions; no more heretics to shoot and burn and lock up." The problem is that there's a man named Jones who can see one year in the future, so he knows everything that's going to happen, giving him a bored attitude, since he already knows every conversation he's going to have with people and what they're going to do. The secret police have a problem with Jones, because he threatens their way of life as he moves up from carnival fortune teller to minister and world leader, based on his xenophobia, hatred for the alien spores landing on Earth from outer space. There's a subplot with mutant humans designed to live on Venus as a way of relieving the overcrowding of Earth. Mostly it's quite good, when focused on the main plot. Filled with lots of early Dick style conversation with characters saying one thing and then immediately saying the opposite. While some of Dick's books were written more to earn money, this was definitely an inspired one.
