Oh rotating first person pov :( Oh long flashbacks :( The story was good but I don't like this style of writing, just not for me. But the story made me cry so it's well written just wish it'd been 3rd person. I also didn't like that they didn't use condoms. And other than the long depressing flashbacks you don't really get to know the characters or anything

I would recommend it if you are an avid fan of Harper Lee. There is so little published about here, and it provides an insightful counterpoint to what is said about Lee in some of Capote's work as well as in his biographies. The writing here is disappointing and there just isn't a lot to the book, no doubt - in part - to Lee's own choices to avoid interviews.

This is a short but impacting read about a little boy's glimpse into heaven while on the operating table for a burst appendix. What I appreciated about the author (the dad of the little boy) is that after every time he talked about a portion of heaven that he experienced, his dad would back it up with scripture. I found myself speed reading through the "filler" stuff to get to the parts where Colton would talk about heaven. I truly believe that he saw what he claims to have seen and I hope to carry the knowledge of heaven a little closer now.

I couldn't finish reading this book. I read Eats Shoots And Leaves (by the same author, Lynne Truss) and enjoyed it. Since my untamed hatred of mean people rivals my untamed hatred of poor grammar, I was expecting to enjoy this book as well. It didn't so much turn me against rude people as it turned me against the author, who comes off as a worse person than any examples she gives of others' transgressions.

Jamie does a terrific job of talking about the tricky subject of male/female relationships in a fun and upbeat manner. It's an enjoyable read and if you want to be entertained and maybe even learn a few little secrets about possibilities to allure the opposite sex or "drive men crazy," give this book a chance. It's wonderful.

This is one of those books that I was hooked on from the first chapter. I don't know what exactly drew me in about it, but I loved it and couldn't put it down. I loved the contemporary setting and how (even though it is totally impossible) it seemed like this entire world could be real. However, as much as I loved the book, there are some aspects of it (and the rest of the series) that I disliked, especially Bella's character. I don't think her actions are exactly that of a good role-model. Even though Stephenie Meyer has insisted that Bella's not anti-feminist, it sure seems like it. She's a little bit pathetic in the way she is sooooooo attached to Edward, and how she feels she can't have a life without this guy. That's not exactly the kind of thing that girls should aspire to be. Something about these books, though, always has me coming back for more.... I have read every book in the series about 4 times, unless I forgot and actually read them more. I probably would recommend these, but not to somebody who is looking for real vampire sci-fi stuff, since there is definitely more romance than supernatural action.
