Michael's thoughts seem at times too mature/out of character for a nine-year-old, even one who has suffered emotional trauma. Still, this is a touching story.

This book teaches you all about the "Columbian Exposition" (World's fair) that took place in Chicago at the turn of the century. This book will make you think you are interested in American history, however "true" scholars of the Worlds fair apparently don't like this book. I did. The two plots of the serial killer and the fair go together really nicely, but I kept waiting for the chapters about the serial killer. However, I must admit that if it was just a book about the serial killer it would've been too gruesome to finish. So many inventions came from this event. Read it, you'll be amazed.

Loved this book. FBI thriller that definitely keeps you guessing. The logic is great and the twists and turns are awesome. A little love and romance thrown in too. Set in current day Los Angeles, CA. You have a bricklayer who was a former FBI agent who is brought into help catch some criminals who are killing high profile individuals and demanding money from the FBI to stop. The criminals are very intelligent and it makes the money drop scenes interesting. I thoroughly enjoy the bricklayer; he is very realistic to me because there are definitely things about him that are frustrating and other parts that are endearing. Enjoyable!

I grew up having this book for my nightstand and I still love the short stories in both Winnie-the-Pooh and The House on Pooh Corner. A fun, light read that shouldn't be over analyzed or over thought. If you need a cheering up, this book is perfect.

Although Bentley's writing is very good and I'd be interested in reading another of his books, the story didn't take off until more than half way through the book. Once it took off, I enjoyed reading it...until the end. The ending was a shock and it was one that I personally didn't like.
