This definitely falls in the category of "chick lit". It was a cute story. I listened to it in the car, and it was enjoyable in this media. I can really imagine it being a movie -- romantic comedy. I find myself picturing the different characters and who would play them in a movie. Very light, without much substance, but entertaining, nonetheless.

Pessl's novel is a fantasic ride, though warnings must be made. Blue van Meer, STiCP's narrator, has a penchant (some might call it a problem) for overflowering metaphors, similes and all forms of citation. But it's that voice, charmingly erudite and self-depreciating, that captures the reader. The tale itself is anything but a simple one, though the crux of it is revealed early - it's all about a murder. Pessl's structuring the novel as a syllabus (complete with final exam) allows the reader to unravel it along with the narrator. Pick it up - it's worth the time, though you may find yourself dizzied with the abuse of figurative language. ; )

Great book. I love the way that Heinlein was consistently successful at predicting the science of the future (maybe even inspiring it). This story is enjoyable. I especially recommend it for anyone who has ever dreamed of going to the moon.

I already read it once. It is like the same as the other Baudelaire book by it is only that the Baudelaires win for once. And Fiona made a very bad choice! I hate her for doing that. This is not very weird because I am like a very fast reader but this book took me very short to finish. Even though it has 323 pages!
