This book was a great read. I liked the story-telling technique of using the letters to inform the reader of the past and have the daughter involved in her own adventure in the present. Well-written and enjoyable to read. Great for anyone who enjoys a mental adventure with a little horror thrown in.

But some parts were a tiny bit boring. It also took me the first 1 and a half chapters to actually get into it. Some parts were really good and there were actually a few scenes that almost disguisted me. I'm sorry if this review seems a little on the con side but I really did like it. This book is sort of like a mix between Percy Jackson (demigod stuff), Romeo and Juliet (starcrossed lovers), Twilight (the chemistry between charracters), and City of Bones (the fact that (view spoiler)).
