Diane is completely blown away when police officers show up at her humble house and let her know her husband Gareth was involved in a helicopter accident. She's in disbelief until she gets to the hospital and find out not only was her husband in a helicopter, but he's been hiding a whole family and many other things. I'm leaving a lot out, but trust me, you;d rather not have me spoil it for you! I wasn't quite sure what to expect when I read the synopsis, but it sure wasn't this!This book is really fast paced, and keeps you on your toes. I'm not really a big fan of infidelity but I liked how Diane and James struggled with it and dealt with it. It wasn't treated lightly. I also liked how family was a very important part of the book. The issues that Gareth had were pretty deep and severe, which made it easier to dislike him. I loved watching Diane go from being a doormat to ferocious. It was a great read!

I have mixed feelings about this book. At times I couldn't put it down and at other times I thought it was so frustrating to read. What kept my going was the need to know if the 2 main characters would come out ok in the end. They were so desperate and heartbreaking. If you like strange family stories this is a must read. But I will warn you that it is slow at times.

I read anything with Batman in it even when I shouldn't. I trudged through reading Batman turning into a vampire, because well the man has been my favorite (vigilant) super hero. I don't enjoy seeing Batman up against the paranormal. I enjoy reading about him actually going up the villains created for him to fight. They are more entertaining and have more depth. Horror and Batman just don't mix.
