This was recommended to me by a friend and it wasn't what I was expecting - It was much, much better! I read it in an afternoon. It's not Shakespeare, but it's light, fluffy, funny and totally entertaining. Five stars, easy.

It's a fitting finale to the series. I've fallen in love with Caia and Lucien's story that I found myself reading the series all over again right after reading it the first time.

I really enjoyed this book! This is officially the first urban fantasy (or paranormal romance) book that had me in danger of crying. I read the ending while sitting passenger-side during a four-hour road trip. I think if I had been alone, the tears would have actually rolled. As it was, my eyes watered and I tried my darned-est to hold back the tears as Cat made her final decisions in the book. All the while, I was trying not to look like I was about to bawl, so my husband wouldn't have to ask me what was wrong, and then I wouldn't have to say, "(view spoiler) Waah!" That would make me look pretty foolish, I think. Halfway to the Grave was formulaic in a lot of ways. For example, we have the near-virgin woman and the much-experienced man who falls deeply in love with her and breaks down her emotional barriers. We have the vampire-killer who initially believes that all vampires are evil but eventually sees the error of her ways. We have the half-breed who doesn't know where she belongs in the world and fights too hard against her "evil" half. But despite the formula, I loved every minute of it. The book was a lot fun, with lots of bloody action, sexy vampires, and sexual innuendo. The author managed to achieve the perfect ratio of character-development/touching scenes to action scenes. This book may have followed a formula in many respects, but "formulas" exist for a reason. Sometimes they work! And this author did a fine job making the formulas her own, by creating believable and engaging characters. (I just love Bones to pieces!) I bought it, hook, line, and sinker. I was never bored--not once. I thought the ending was pretty great. The climax was a series of several beautifully choreographed action sequences, which I could visualize perfectly in my mind's eye. And it was clear to me that the author had put some thought into creating a bad-guy crime network that spanned both supernaturals and humans. I appreciated that. It took some of the cliche out of the book. I am definitely looking forward to reading the second book in this series.

** spoiler alert ** This was a pretty good book. Classic space science fiction. I thought the plot line moved a little fast, that actions in the book seemed to move/progress faster than reasonable. Also one premise bugged me in that the galaxy was filled with many planets with oxygen atmospheres, yet those same planets had ZERO biologicals. No plant life, nothing at all. But there was oxygen. That I found hard to believe. Still it was good read and I enjoyed it.

Read it in high school and re-read it in college. Unlike most, I like Dharma Bums more, but nonetheless enjoyed the read (more in college). Wish it was still possible to hitchhike across the US, but Kerouac can always spark an adventure.

I first heard about this book when I found out the movie by the same title was based on a book. I have been meaning to go see the movie, but had the opportunity to first read the book, so I decided to purchase it. Wow, what a great read. Such complex themes and emotions. Also seeing how Michael's character develops from a boy to a man and how he has dealt with his relationship with Hanna is really interesting. It was also a great insight as to how Germans after WW2 dealt with Nazi Germany and the legacy that generation left with the country. I don't know a whole lot about the war crimes or trials from that era but this was a fascinating read and look into that time period. I read this book very quickly - within a couple of hours. In my book (pun intended) that shows how good it is. I know I'll probably re-read this one again. This is a book that I'll recommend to others to read. It's heavy stuff, but it was really good. I'm also looking forward to seeing the movie. Kate Winslet is one of my favorite actors, and I'm curious to know how she'll play Hanna's character. It'll be interesting.

Assassination attempts, political plots, mystery, and court intrigue – this historical is an action packed fast read. The romance between John and Susanna was the icing on the cake. Both of these characters had intriguing backgrounds and both of them had interesting positions in King Henry VIII’s court. I would have liked to have read more about Susanna’s craft and what type of work the king might have put her to task creating--and maybe one or two less attempts on her life. The Reader’s Guide at the end was a bonus, but I really enjoyed the Author’s Note. I wish I had read that first, as I hadn’t realized Susanna and John were actual historical figures, and that they did marry. I think Ms. Diener did an excellent job weaving fact and fiction, and I look forward to reading her next book.
