Personally this was an average read, the story was of course interesting, somewhat. I enjoyed it a little, but i guess it doesn't help that i was supposed to read it for school, in leisure it may have been a better read.

This book is a must read for everyone but most importantly school age children, parents, teachers, et cetera. The brutality that Jodee endures on account of confidence lacking children who turn to bullying as a way to "prove" their level of cool or by those who feared repercussions if they stood up for what they knew was completely improper treatment of another human being. The most influential part of the book, for me, came when Jodee returned for her class reunions - a move that I am almost 100% sure I would not have done had I been in her shoes. The fact that most of the students did not remember what they had done to her or didn't remember her period goes to show how little children and/or young adults grasp in terms of the idea of long term consequences or self awareness. What is deemed "kids being kids" is anything but and it's a shame that this type of behavior is tolerated.

I enjoyed this short story very much, especially knowing its creative inception. It is very short, taking less than 30 minutes to read it slowly. I recommend it to readers of m/m erotica and to authors or would-be authors who are looking for new inspiration.

I think I've changed my mind about reading this. After reading a bunch of reviews I've come to the conclusion that Reth is absent through most of it. Since that creep was the reason I finished the first one, I doubt I would like this one. I guess this is one series I'll have to drop.
