I have to admit that the concept of this book totally grabbed me. After reading the blurb, I knew I wanted to read this book. And I loved it! In this alternate universe, the Violets are people who can channel the dead. They are born with the skill and all have violet eyes. They also have some fascinating jobs within society and are actively expected to help out whenever the authorities need them. They are also closely monitored and controlled by the NAACC, and often testify in court by serving as conduits to the dead. When someone starts killing Violets, FBI agent Dan teams up with Violet Natalie to solve the murders, while also babysitting her to make sure she's kept save. As more of the people from Natalie's past turn up dead, it becomes obvious that she could be the next target. The longer Dan spends with Natalie, the more his reluctance to have anything to do with Violets fades. The mystery of who and why the killer is targetting Violets was fantastically woven, with new clues exposed along the way that made it look as if Dan and Natalie were on the right track, only to be pushed in another direction. The red herrings were cleverly thrown in, and even when I started suspecting someone, I was suddenly pushed off course. Through Violet Eyes is an intriguing and interesting book that sucked me in from the very beginning. The concept of the Violet's ability is amazing, every detail so planned out that by the final revelation, you can't help but nod your head and appreciate just how clever this book was. And the black room - where souls are trapped until they move on - is described so vividly that I got chills just thinking about it. The end left me feeling a little melancholy. There's a shade of deep sadness, but the spark of hope intrigued me. Since this is the first book in a series, I can't wait to read more! This is a seriously great book.

** spoiler alert ** The was so unbelievably AWESOME!!!!! My favorite of the series so far!!! When I first read Captivate I was so mad about the ending, but what happens cuz of the ending was what made this book so good! I hated that Carrie brought in Astley and I hated the thought that there was going to be a love triangle, but after reading Entice, I LOVE Astley! He is pretty much the most amazingly awesome guy ever! I was so nervous that he was going to turn out bad, that there was something behind his wanting to help Zara get Nick back. After this though I can't see how he possibly can be. I felt so bad for him with his whole past, it's just soooo sad :( but I think that has made him who he is. Wow listen to me go on about him like he's the only character in the book. Anyway on with everyone else. Zara, now she was so kick butt in this I loved her! And cute little Issie and Devan, so so cute. So happy they are finally together! Her mom really got on my nerves. I mean I can understand why she is the way she is, but still, she drove me crazy. Her dad :( , what a way to redeem yourself. Cassidy, at first I hated her in Captivate, now I love her. Definitely one of my favorite added characters. Ms. Nix...I don't even want to talk about that. And Betty, I love that she was so excepting of Zara and eventually of Astley. However it was so heartbreaking with her in the end. And last but not least Nick. There's not much to say about him, given the fact that he wasn't in it until the last 20 pages or so of the book. I was happy to see that, even though at first he was so upset about her being a pixie, he started to except what she was now. I do have a feeling that he's not going to be so understanding when he wakes up and can't remember why she turned into a pixie, though. That should make things a little interesting. I love where the author is taking the storyline! It's going to make for such an exciting 4th book, I can't wait to read it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
