** spoiler alert ** I've finished this book I would recommend it to everyone. It is a very good book from start to finish..The only mistake I made was reading this book last..I started with a 'Man called Blessed'.. I didn't know about this book..When I found it I then read it and it is very good. 'A Man Called Blessed' is also very good..They both touched me deep within..

What a difference a Wall makes! I passed through CheckPoint Charlie back when you had to to reach the other side. West Berlin, boisterous, active, cars packed the KuDamm at 1AM. Passing through the Graffiti west side to the east, a difference of well, East & West. A zone of dead buildings near the Wall, so you wouldn't use those to jump over the wall or burrow under. You had to exchange 25 Marks and you had to spend it, no taking any money back, and nothing to spend it on! No picture taking of 'official buildings.' Maybe 6 smoky Trabants buzzed from one traffic light to the next. This book is a collection of glossy photos mixed with pithy quotes regarding freedom and walls, divided into the phases, 'up against the wall', 'off the wall' etc. Ironically John Lennon's 'Imagine' is quoted, which is the Communist Manifesto put to music, just the ideology that build the Wall. And! the book came with your own authenticated hunk of the Wall!

I didn't think that the characters were particularly likeable, but they were really interesting. The writing style of the book made the entire story more complex--although a bit harder to read at times.
In true Judy Blume, girls-coming-of-age fashion, a girl must deal with her parents' divorce. (At least, I'm pretty sure this is the one about divorce).

What's not to like--a spunky, young girl who is stronger, physically and mentally, than most girls in her society, travels in 1918 to Montana to "prove up" a homestead claim. I liked Hattie, and liked the juxtaposition of nineteenth century farm life meeting up with cars, motorcycles and other modern ways. It is a gentle introduction (I remembered halfway through that this is a "young adult fiction" book)to racial prejudice and coming of age. If you like the sound of the story, but are looking for a little more grown up details, 'These Is My Words' by Nancy E. Turner might do it for you.

Not my favorite Alex Delaware book. OK, plot, but too much of the movement was driven by the "let's sit around talking about hypothetical scenarios to advance the plot". Deleware seemed kind of a cipher as far as his involvement in the story.

Book reviews make me nervous; I’m always worried I’ll give too much away. To avoid that, I have come up with some basic questions that I will answer as briefly as possible to give you a general idea of why I did or did not like the book. Q: Is the plot exciting and suspenseful? A: Yes Q: Does it have a fast start? A: Yes Q: Action, danger, humour, romance, mystery? A: Action – yes; danger – yes; romance - yes; humour – some; mystery - sort of Q: Do the characters (make you care)? A: Yes but you have more than likely have read the previous books in this series. Q: Is it well written (good descriptions, well explained and believable)? A: Yes and no; good descriptions and well explained but not so believable. Q: Did it provide an emotional response and give you something to think about? A: Yes Q: Did it have a good ending with problems solved and characters getting what they deserve? A: See below Extras (FYI): - Sexual content - tension, kissing - Profanity - mild - Violence - yes I've been with Max and flock from the start and I'm sad to see them go. I've loved the story and the characters. And it was a darn fun read. But I just don't know about this book. I feel a little let down and it feels weird. The end seemed rushed and a little "out there". If you've read the rest of the series then you can't miss reading this. If you've never read a Max book I would suggest you start from the beginning so you don't get turned off.

Barry does an excellent job of making the reader sympathize with and care for a rude, bitter, hump-backed, old, Irish woman.

I read this book hating the guy the entire time. So many stupid mistakes here that just made me more frustrated. Paige is an idiot. So is Nathan. I wanted to slap them all silly. One might find the girl a little darling, I didn't. She'll end up a manipulative little bitch, just like her mom.

Wonderful little book - for children and adults alike. A great way to introduce environmental awareness to children.
