Surrender to Me by Shayla Black Erotic Contemporary Romance -March 1st, 2011 4 ½ stars Surrender to Me typifies why Shayla Black is known for her erotic romances. This book kept me captivated from the first page. Hunter is on break in Vegas when he spies a gorgeous woman named Kata. He has never desired a woman more even though his military buddy, Ben has an on and off again relationship with her. Hunter vows to make her his. When Hunter hears that her fantasy is a ménage, he eagerly volunteers with Ben to show her the time of her life. And to prove that she can’t live without him. But Hunter’s intensity scares Kata her. When Kata is shot at, Hunter is determined to protect her. But can he prove he is the man to cherish her, too? I loved this book. It was so hot, steam seemed to come off of the pages! The sexual chemistry between the two characters is amazing. Hunter is pure alpha and does he know how to use his magnetism on unsuspecting Kata! Warning, he is a very dominant in bed and this book has BDSM. I liked that Kata is sexually liberated and comfortable with her body. The struggles in their relationship felt very real as Kata tries to maintain her autonomy from the determined Hunter. I liked how much Shayla Black shows how much Hunter needs Kata and lets nothing stand between them. If you love books by Lora Leigh, this book will blow you away. Sultry, intoxicating and super sexy. Do not miss this book! Reviewed by Steph from the Bookaholics Romance Book Club

Spend 40 days with Amy Carmichael`s thoughts and see how she saw and knew the Saviour, be inspired and encouraged by her faith and by the miracles God did in her life. A real christian.

Although I occasionally found the writing style a bit too "anthropology student in the field" the story itself was compelling enough to hold my interest. It's a fine reminder that no matter how advanced and intelligent we as a species are, the vast impersonal forces of nature will always be bigger than us.

Post-war Paris from a small-town Oklahoman''s point of view. 1996. I enjoyed this novel a lot. Kind of hard to describe. Not the best writing in the world, and her use of dialect is quite flawed. But what she has to say is often interesting. I do not think of it as a mystery, though it seems to be classified as such. Human interest. Family situations. Child-parent relations. Love triangles.

Another fun mystery that had my attention from the very first chapter. Took a bit of time for me to follow the breadcrumb trail of clues as to where the story was headed. Really enjoyed her writing style.

Great book....but very sad. Very interesting the perspective the book took.

I was very disappointed by this book. I really liked her other novels and found them to be quick and fun reads. I felt nothing with this book except anger towards the main character and sort of annoyed at certain scenarios that were so incredibly far fetched that it made me say "Are you kidding me?" out loud. I wasn't rooting for anyone; I wasn't happy at the end of the book, or sad that it was over like I was with Something B...more I was very disappointed by this book.

So often and by many I've been told That talk is silver while the silence has been made of pure gold Like Chatsky I felt always free to speak my rebel's mind No wonder that indeed I am "the failing looser" in the eyes of those all quail Molchalin's kind Being "Chatsky" makes the life to be the real mess It's "Woe from Wit" when one just likes to serve without licking bosses's ass The story is so true; it doesn't matter anyway, I must admittedly to say Where, in what country Chatskys and Molchalins really live - it happens be the same for any country: Russia, France and even USA Chatsky was the first "spare", "unused by the society" character in Russian classical literature, to be followed by Pushkin's Eugene Onegin, Lermontov's Pechorin, Turgenev's Bazarov and Goncharov's Oblomov. In the 20th century this tradition was continued by Yuri Trifonov.
