I loved this book! Audrey is a regular 16 year old until she breaks up with her boyfriend, Evan. Evan is the lead singer of the Do-Gooders, a high school band. After the break up Evan writes a song that shoots to the top of the charts (all the charts). 'Audrey, wait!' catapults Audrey into the spotlight; school mates want to be her friend, struggling bands want to be inspired by her, tv, magazines and newspapers want interviews. Audrey just wants to be a normal kid. This is the story of how that is not possible, and what happens next.

I don't understand how people read this book in a day or two. It took me almost a month and I think I could get the main point without reading so many pages. Maybe just not my type.

The Boston Strangler was such a prominent case at the time it was happening and the world heard about it. This novel written by Gerold Frank about horrible crimes committed by one man is told without gore and shock, but rather aims at giving only the truth about human nature. How sad that some of us humans can commit such heinous crimes.

This is the first Erica Spindler book that I've read and I must say I was totally mesmerized. I couldn't put this book down at all!! I'll be searching for this author's other novels. From back cover: "I'm in trouble, Liz. I've uncovered something..They're watching..." That panicked message on her answering machine is the last time Liz Ames hears from her sister Rachel, pastor of Paradise Christian Church in Key West, Florida. Compelled to uncover the truth about her sister's disappearance, she heads to Key West. Within hours of her arrival a successful banker jumps to his death. Then a teenage girl whom Rachel was counseling is found brutually murdered. The ritualistic style of the killing is hauntingly similar to that used by the notorious "New Testament" serial killer-now on death row. Could the teen's murder be related to Rachel's disappearance? Is a copycat killer at work? And why do the police refuse to help? For answers, Liz turns to Rick Wells, a former Miami cop who worked the fringes of the "New Testament" investigation. Together they peel away layers of deception to reveal a terrifying adversary-and the unspeakable evil at the heart of this island paradise."

This is the second time that I have read this book and I did not realize it until I was half way through and the little light bulb in my brain started to flicker. Sometimes I truly wonder what is going on up there. Alan Christoffersen seems to have the perfect life. The perfect job. The perfect car. The perfect wife. That is until one day when his world comes crashing down around him and one by one they all go away. All that Alan is left with is himself and his journal. So, what does a grown man do? He goes for a walk. Not just any stroll, but from Seattle to Key West, Florida. That is the plan until that too is interrupted. Now I understand why I did not remember this story. This is only the first book in the series; my brain could not remember an ending because there has not yet been one. Now that I understand, I am not as disappointed in the incompleteness of this storyline. Not one to leave a series unfinished I will continue on, but I am confused. Once source claims that the next book in the series is called Angel, but another source calls it Miles to Go. Off to do some research to see what the exact title is. However, I am sure that with either title, I will get a better understand of who exactly Alan Christofferson is and who he will become.

What an enjoyable book! Charles, Earl of Billington, is a rake and in trouble of losing his fortune if he does not get married in fifteen days. Ellie, a talkative vicar's daughter, has just discovered living with her father and step mother is too much for her to handle. Charles proposes marriage to Ellie just after meeting her and he thinks he can still live his rakish ways if he marries this witty stranger. The best part of this book is Charles. I thought he was charming, funny, handsome, patient (at times), and lovable. Every now and then Ellie would get on my nerves because she wanted to be too perfect and she was a little on the prudish side. However, Ellie's kindness to others and her humor made me like her a little better. I will definitely want to read this book again.

A tremendous story. I would recommend this to anyone. I learned a lot and was very moved. Plus, despite the grim story line, the narrative was gripping.

Beware reading David Sedaris in public. You may be on a bus next to a large man who has trapped you next to the window and is taking up more than his share of the seat while you shake with silent mirth and try not to snigger at Sedaris' snaky anecdotes. You may also be in a quiet public library trying not to burst out loud laughing lest you make a total fool of yourself. It's hilarious. It's Sedaris. There's some beautiful stories, and some extremely funny stories and then there's some in between too.
