First off i would like to start this review with one word : WOW! This book is sooooo good!I probably cried through about six chapters. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is not only well written, but insightful and incredibly moving. Harry Potter is a young boy who has the great responsibility of destroying Lord Voldemort, the greatest dark wizard in history. With the help of Harry's two best friends, Ronald Weasley and Hermione Granger, Harry takes on this task left to him by the greatest headmaster Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry has ever seen, Albus Dumbledore. Along the journey of this mission the trio encounters numerous difficult desicions and sticky situations, all while keeping hidden since Harry is "Undesirable Number 1" , Hermione is a muggle born (a wich or wizard born of non magical parents), and Ron is from a family of "blood traitors" (a term used by elite "pureploods" to describe other families of purebloods who associatie with muggles and muggle borns). The Entire story is thrilling and amazingly put together. There isn't an unanswered question at the end of the book. You will find yourself wishing that it wern't over and sad that there aren't anymore to come. This is one of the best books I have ever read. J.K. Rowling is a GENIUS.

I admit i fell in love with Irene after reading this book. To write a novel is tough enough but to write at the time she wrote this one I am in awe

Since I read one, I had to read the other. This was equally at good as Blink.

There was a good story in there somewhere. It just got bogged down by the rambling, repetitive explanations of economics and the inner workings of speculative markets. I thought most of the characters were developed well with the exception of Big Sister Nor, which is kind of funny since she's the character that holds all the story lines together. I'm not sure how this is considered a book for 12-17 year olds. If I'd read/listened to this book at that age, I would have quit pretty quickly. I get that the majority of characters are young teens, but the intricacies of the plot and the before mentioned economic and investment lessons would have lost my attention. Which isn't to say that I won't try more Doctorow. I've heard good things about his other books, but this one just didn't gel well. Too many side notes that seemed to go on forever, tearing me out of the story as a whole. It's hard to get into a story that has five or six plot lines with entirely different sets of characters as it is. Throw in long, rambling, repetitive tangents and things are going to fall apart in places.

I thought the first two books were excellent. I think my favorite was the second book in the series. This book started off very intense and exciting but died a little bit in the end in my eyes. I thought the final 4 or 5 chapters seemed rushed by the author and the story was a little too choppy, however Suzanne did a good job in wrapping up the finish and I still enjoyed the book.

Close competition with In the Fall for my most favorite fiction book. Early feminist writer Mary Wollstonecraft, the mother of Frankenstein author Mary Shelly, had an adventurous and atypical life for an 18th century woman reporting on the French revolution, being imprisoned because she demanded equal treatment under the law and bearing a child out of wedlock. Wollstonecraft finally settled down and had her 2nd child, Mrs. Shelly, and yet~~~

this book is the first release from Minx, which is the dc comics graphic novel imprint aimed at teenage girl readers. so, yeah, i'm kinda outside the demographic for that -- and judging by the previews for future titles in the back, probably will remain so. (the only other one which holds any interest for me is "Good as Lily" by Derek Kirk Kim & Jesse Hamm). anyway, this wasn't bad. and it's actually not too heavy handed in it's exploration of things like terror(ism) & art & identity, which is nice. the author apparently is an accredited teen fiction author, but i betray my lack of knowledge by not completely recognizing her name. the draw for me though, is Jim Rugg. He's good cartoonist. His work here totally reminds me of a mix of Shade era-Bachalo (it's the noses) and Farel Dalrymple. His character work totally makes the whole book worth checking out.
