I'd recommend this to Twilight readers - no vampires, but a very strong and obstinate female protagonist. She has a sexy, confident love interest, and the tension between them is well done. A few minor plot holes/jumps, but nothing that ruined the story.

In contrast to Episode 1, I couldn't bear to let this episode come to an end. I almost finished it in two nights but wanted to spin my reading out for as long as possible. Perhaps because the narrator of the story regularly changes from one character to another I found them all appealing. I never tired of switching from recent to ancient history. I found both settings and both groups of characters totally believable. The eternal conflict of good and evil and the battle for power never fails to enthrall. A suspicion I had proved correct but in no way spoiled the story. I thoroughly enjoyed the installment experience and still have the promise of re-reading it as one thick, juicy book some other time. The story is satisfying enough as far as it goes in this series but there is a lot of scope for more (much more, please) to be told. I hope the author has already started the next batch of episodes, I really look forward to reading them.

Another great Terry Pratchett book about the City Watch. Lord Ventinari has been poisoned and golem's are running amuck in Ankh Morpork. Also Wee Mad Arthur, supposedly a gnome, but totally an early Nac Mac Feegle!

This story starts with an unusual paperweight that an old woman bought at a shop. She looked into it and when she died she had all of her affairs in order. Now it falls into the hands of her granddaughter, Sarah. Sarah saw a reflection of a yellow dress in her mothers mirror before she bought it. She saw Charlie fall down the stairs before it happend. Is Sarah a witch? Or is she just losing her mind? This book compliments the extreme suspense and style that Lois Duncan posseses. The story is fantastic and if you are interested in reincarnation, the Salem Witch Trials or the paranormal then this book is definitely for you. I thought the ending was great!
