It has its faults, but they are small and insignificant in the whirlwind read that is John Dies At the End. I can't remember a book I've read recently that was this much Fun. At once a send-up of Horror novels while managing to have a sense of horror itself (I turned the lights on in my bedroom at one point); this book is a short, easy read that's perfect for any fan of the genre. I really loved the hell put of this book.

This book disappointed me because I was expecting lots of cool WWII spy stories, but it is really about a woman's quest to reconcile her relationship with her father. She never actually finds out anything about his spy missions, so if you read this, don't hold your breath like I did!

Fourth in the series. This time it's Mama Dolores who finds the corpse. Lake Eden's cosmetician Rhonda Scharf is found dead in the basement of her just sold house along with a lemon meringue pie from the Cookie Jar. Hannah investigates against all to find the murderer as soon as possible so that Norman (who bought the house) can tear it down and built another one. Amusing. I'm definitely in Norman's camp to win Hannah over. Mike, the so handsome policeman can get lost. ; )

In-clasificable, in-resumible, inexplicable ... una obra enorme, que toca una infinidad de temas, que juega con la historia, el tiempo y la realidad. Sólo puedo decir que a mi me gusta mucho, pero no es para cualquiera. Hay partes muy densas y no muy divertidas, y la obra es muy extensa. Fans de la criptografía y/o las novelas de especulación histórica, o de la ciencia ficción en general, deberían echarle un ojo. Para mí es una joya.

I wavered between 3 and 4 stars but finally chose 4 because of the fantastic job Sarah Waters does of making the reader deeply feel all the murkiness of life in Victorian London, even for a young woman with resources. Millbank Prison is only the most obvious of the excruciatingly claustrophobic elements depicted: the smog; the need to conform; marriage as an absolute requirement for respectability.... Sarah Waters is such a solid writer, and this is a good read, even though it's not my favorite of her books.

okay, so my reading level was a little beyond where this book was reaching, but i've always been a sucker for an easy read, and hey, this is like chick-lit for youngsters! ada is adorable. you can't help but love her, and man, i will never forget her balancing on the roof to save her cat. this was also one of those books that drove home the sacrifices you have to make for your sport/dream/whatever, and i realized i was destined to be an underachiever. a well-read underachiever, but one nonetheless.

Elizabeh Chadwick için yeterince söyleyemem! Bu kitabı indiremedim! Çok iyi yazılmış. Elizabeth, Williams'ın hikayesini anlatmak için harika bir iş çıkardı! Chadwicks Kitaplarından daha fazlasını okuyacağım! İnanılmaz! Oh, bu hikayenin çocuklarımın okumasını istemeyeceğim birkaç ramantik kısmı var. Çok adil bir uyarı. Aksi takdirde olağanüstü bir kitap oldu!
