I love Henry and the Buccaneer Bunnies (used quite often as a summer reading story) so I had high expectations for this book. That being said it's a good book just not as good as it's predecessor. However, I did like that Henry wrote his own book after researching and how he learned by his mistakes so he was ready when it came time to "battle" the chickens.

A junior-high FAVORITE that still holds up its fun and intrigue. NOT a dumbed-down mystery. If you've never read it, I promise it will keep you guessing. And even on a rereading, when you already know the puzzle's solution(s), the story and characters keep you turning pages. This is one of the best mystery books of all time, whatever your age. I read it in a day. And will read it in a day many more times in the future.

I loved this book. The storyline kept me interested the entire time, and I couldn't stop reading it until I had finished. Unfortunately I didn't feel the same way about the main character--who I found sort of annoying and rude--but overall I'm excited for book 2. :)

I could not put this book down. The story saddened me and made me think a lot about my life and what I would do if this sort of thing ever happened to me, which I think was a good thing. The author's language can be a bit colorful & she likes to throw in quite a bit of liberal cliches, but she's very readable and extremely fair in how she tells her story.

This book is really tough to get through, not because it's poorly written or boring, but because the story Dave Pelzer shares of his childhood is heartbreaking. It took me a couple weeks to get through this, and it's not a long book and I'm not a slow reader. It is, however, an eye-opening and important book.
