When I first read this book at the age of 11 I didn't like it that much, but looking back it was extremely mature for its age level, and the characters, though I found many of them extremely bothersome at the time have really stuck with me. I can still remember the feeling that the novel evoked. I think that says a lot.

Agatha Christie is a horribly over rated author whose books are on the slightly perdictable side. Sad to say, "And Then There Were None" was one of her better books. Her others actually put me to sleep.

Starting his third year at Hogwarts, Harry Potter has had enough of his muggle relatives. He runs away from them and begins his first term in trouble: for using magic outside the school, and from the news that a notorious criminal, Sirius Black, has escaped the wizard's prison at Azkaban and apparently is headed for Harry. The school calls in supernatural help from Dementors, but unusual things continue to put Harry at risk. Harry seeks help from one of his professors, Professor Lupin. As Lupin helps Harry with his problems, he hides a secret of his own. Harry Potter discovers hidden secrets about him and his family's past, and doesn't know who his real friends are anymore. I enjoyed reading this book by J.K Rowling, she repeats to not disappoint me. I believe that the lesson taught in this story is that you should always be careful with who you trust, and with what you hear. People are not always what they seem to be, or what people say they are.

This piece of fiction is meant for those who care deeply about the earth, but also happen to have a slightly wicked sense of humor. From Amazon: Florida muckraker Hiaasen once again produces a devilishly funny caper revolving around the environmental exploitation of his home state by greedy developers. When budding young ecoterrorist Twilly Spree begins a campaign of sabotage against a grotesque litterbug named Palmer Stoat, he gets much more than he bargained for. This was my first Hiaasen book and definitely not my last. I also learned a little bit about how politics and lobbying work (Hiaasen writes for the Miami-Harold so he knows his stuff).

It was surprisingly good considering the plot was forced to revolve around the fact that the main character was an idiot and the non idiot chose to follow the whimsical idiocies of the teenage boy, who could care less about everyone dying, as long as he got a chance to make out with the pretty girl >.>

All these years and I had never read Around the World in 80 Days. I'm so glad that I did. Definitely a "classic" for a reason. It was just as engaging to a modern-day reader as I am sure it was to contemporary readers.

I did not care for this book. The first part was hard to follow. It started to get more interesting half way through.
