It was very different in comparison to the first book--all of them are, but I didn't like it as much as I did the first book. It had a lot of great ideas but I felt like L'Engle was too theoretical and there wasn't as much plot or as much understanding of the happenings therein. It wasn't as sentimental as the first book. It's hard to pin down my feelings on it because it felt like L'Engle wasn't sharing as much with us, almost as though we were distant from Meg, when she was the one who was carrying us into the story.

Overall a really good read. It took a bit to get into it, and was a bit hard to follow in parts..but otherwise as I said, a good read. I will be picking up the second book in the trilogy soon.

From what I read of this, it seemed like an entertaining take on the vampire theme. But, I am kind of tired of vampires, even though it seems like I haven't read that many books featuring them. Maybe it's all the book reviews and hype. Maybe it's all those Sookie Stackhouse books I listened to.

Great insight. Torre was called a traitor by some for co-writing this book. There is nothing in this book that hasn't been in the News or in sports tv, magazines, etc. I thoroughly enjoyed it and recommend it to any Yankee fan.
