Why do I still bother with this series. It is just going down hill. And now it has a three book thing going on in the middle of the series. So this is book two. Most of the book is spent talking about things that have nothing to do with the plot. I am tired of the sex and the shoes. I want a story! This was just a whole book leading up to the third book. This was definitely an eye-opener, and is a great source of information. Not only do you see how differently people in other countries eat, but you also see how little some have. In addition, the author talks about customs and ways of life, so you get a mini portrait of life in another country. My only complaint is that I wish the author had indicated whether a family was typical or representative of their country (such as how many children they have,if extended family typically live together, are their jobs average or low-paying, etc.)

I found this book a little too hard to get into. There were times where the plot just kept dragging. It wasn't until the end where I got to see some action. This book wasn't all bad, but there were some things that could have been cut and the story would have been fine.

It was a little slow starting off but once the last third of the book was really worth "reading". It seems that she (the author) was trying to let us get to know the characters more in this book.

After getting into this series because my two friends Emily and Danielle had been badgering me to, I finally ready Divergent and was instantly hooked on the whole story and how crazy it all got. The action and the storytelling was right up there with the Hunger Games and I could see the comparison that people were making. This second book follows right up into the the tragedies of what has happened in the previous book and takes all you knew and what you thought you knew and twists it like a knife in the heart, making everything new again and more shocking than ever. You need to hold on for the ride of your life as you learn new and important things about what the world around us and the characters is like and how we can overcome all the challenge we face. The book ends in an uproar not only for the characters, but for you as a reader. I had to wait until the final book came out, lucky for you, you can just grab it and go! The nail biting will only get more intense. Finished re-reading for the second time on Tuesday May 27, 2014

Loved the entire series! Recently re-read all 7 and enjoyed them again. The characters and stories are great and progress naturally. I think the Order of the Phoenix is my favorite.

I enjoyed the book but had some plausibility issues that just wouldn't have been allowed if it was YA or MG (isn't that funny?!). She's a good writer though. I'll definitely read more of her books.
