I think it was really interesting. It had action and some weird things. Almost all the kids that were friends had super powers. one was telekinesis.

When reading "A Spot of Bother" i was always trying to link it to "The Curious Incident" or at least find some clues that its "from the same author". I could make no such link. In both books though, Mark shows great skill in describing characters, not to mention they are very, very interesting. I loved they way Mark instead of just describing events tries to get into "the characters head" which is extremely important in this books because firstly, the books talks about a man thinking he has leg cancer when in fact he doesn't, causing him to slowly slip away from sanity, and secondly, because the author doesn't just focus on one main character this time, but on multiple ones. All the characters, however are what keeps the story going; plus the 3rd person writing makes it quite enjoyable. The books talks about George who has enough problems of his own as he is struggling with retirement. He mistakes eczema for cancer. On top of that, he has to deal with his wife, gay son, and his daughter marrying the wrong man. All these factor drive the poor old man into insanity.. Seriously.. who doesn't love a story about a retired husband and father slowly but surely losing his mind?

Really left me wanting to know more about him, and I had never even heard of him before!! I love reading the David Adler books, very easy to read and always interesting.

Awesome book. I usually don't read books by Indian authors as I find their writing extremely pretentious. But this was the first one I really liked.Nice stories. I usually judge the writing skills of an author by the feelings his/her characters evoke in me. These feelings could be empathy,revulsion,contempt- anything. As far as I react to them. I liked her work and will look out for her other offerings.

For a children's book this is a very witty and enjoyable bit of escapism. I can't help feeling sorry for the Troll though.

Sad, bleak and often beautiful...just like the city it's named for.

This book was ok; recommended to my by my cousin who thought this book was a great example of a YA novel written from the male point of view (which I agree). It was a quick read and I am intrigued by the story. The author uses a style of slowing letting you understand the world of Cassel, piece by piece. That means it can be confusing at times and I'm still not sure how everything in the worker world works. Being a crazy cat lady, I obviously appreciate the inclusion of kitties. Much better than Black's first book Tithe, which I couldn't read beyond the first few chapters.
A wonderful introduction to the phenomena of the incarnted lamas of the Tibetan tradition.

intriguing book, it's hard to stop reading it. Bitter in some parts, but magnetic.

This book became the favorite of the series for me. The way Clary goes with Jace and Sebastian despite her distaste and distrust of her brother proves how deep her love is for Jace. I love how Cassandra also let us all learn more about Izzy and Alec and their brother/sister relationship and just how human they can be. I am, however, ticked about what happened between Alec and Magnus. But oh what a shocker at the end when Alec continued searching for Camille and found whatzherface instead! I have become so invested in these characters and it's all Cassandra's fault. I don't know if I can wait as long as I have to for the last book. But I know I will continue to read this series over and over again. Note about purchasing from Barnes & Noble - It seems that they are pushing us to buy books online. If you want a copy of the book on release day and know that what they are selling the book for online is a good price, do not buy it in the store - pre-order it online or buy from and Independent Book Store. They will not give you the online price that is on their own website. Poor business practice in my eyes. But hey... that is what will push me to go to an independent book store and away from them. They drove Borders out of business and honestly, they don't deserve our business anymore.
