This book is exactly what you'd expect it to be--a cold weather Sahara. I did really enjoy it and was glad I listened to it. It was perfect to keep my interest piqued as I rode to work or drove around in the car. I listened to the whole thing in two weeks or less. The adventure can't get much better than icebreakers, dynamite, scuba diving, and old sailing ships. If you are looking for a fun, adventurous read, this will likely fit the bill nicely.

Wow! Great, as all the books in this series have been. The series seems to be written for a bit more of an adult group of readers. I like to read many of the young adult books, but this was the best vampire, witch, pixie, were, banshee, demons, fairy, and, oh yes, humans book series I've ever read. It was nice not to have teenagers as the main characters for a change. Racheal can't go two seconds without being in some type of trouble, same as usual. After all the books in the series, she's STILL in trouble; and you know, even at the end of the book, that it's not going to stop. This is one of the things that keep this series moving. The well- developed personalitity of each character is so finely tuned that you can imagine yourself right there talking with them and know how they would react. But, you never know who is the "bad" guy and who is the "good" guy. You aren't meant to. One of the points brought out in Ms. Harrison's books is that nobody is totally bad or always good. (Well, maybe except for Ku'sox, but even he had reasons for his insanity). Now, for the next book, Ms. Harrison...I want to know any little demons Rachael may have (or will they be part something else? hmmmm). I want to know why her brother doesn't seem to have any "talents" that Racheal or his mother has. They had the same dad. Oh, and Racheal just can't keep going from guy to guy to guy, some time, some where she's got to find "the one" (either a character already introduced or a brand new one. I like Ivy's new relationship and hope that keeps growing. We also need a flame for Jenks (or did he already meet her towards the end of the book...hint, hint.) I have an idea...maybe Rachael should be nanny to Trenton's little girl and Ceri's new one (NOT) :-) Don't you dare even think of ending the series Ms. Harrison!!! Thanks for such wonderful escape into a totally different world. Oh, one more thing...please keep Ivy and Racheal strong in their close relationship. It breaks my heart to see anything change it.

A well-written, fast-paced, young adult adventure story, grounded in mythology and history. What if all of those legends and myths and mysterious figures of history really existed and still existed? That's the basic premise as twin brother and sister find themselves caught up with the infamous alchemist Nicholas Flamel and his wife in an epic war of great powerful beings that have inspired the religions and mythologies of all cultures. A fun read, well worth it. I cannot wait to read the rest of the series.

I loved the in-depth detail of this book. It made me really feel like i was there, even though i will never really know what it was like. The way the Jewish people were treated was so terrible, and in-humaine. I would deffinately reccomend this book to anyone who is looking for a good memoir. The experience was truly amazing, and i felt like i couldn't put it down.

4.5 Stars Amazing book, Going Too Far was my first book by Jennifer Echols and I adored it. This book is from Meg's perspective and we get to hear all her inner thoughts and why she acts the way she does. She was a very interesting character, at first I thought it was just a normal teen angst but as the book goes on we find out deeper reasons. The book gets straight into the drama with Meg and her friends being drunk and high on a railway bridge that is known for killing two people. So of course that's when the first cop shows up. Officer After is not happy with these teens who think it's funny to risk their lives, after they are all cuffed and taken down to the station they are informed that they have to spend a whole week of night time shifts with the police/fire brigade and ambulance. Meg unfortunately has to spent the week with the broody dark Officer After. These two have some serious issues, over time we learn that JohnAfter has another side to him, they push each other so much and it causes arguments but reveals things that brings them closer, one of the sweetest romances I've read in a while. I loved the ending scene when her parents drive up to the dinner and see her. This is an amazing book and I would recommend it to everyone. Can't wait to check out more books by this author.

I felt that I still had some questions in the end; ones that I am hoping get answered in the subsequent books. I wouldn't really say it was a romance. There is some love interest, but I think it is really one-sided. I didn’t really believe the attraction between Amy and Elder. I thought it was a bit forced. Overall, I did like the book. I found myself wondering what I would do if I was stuck in space forever. The peripheral characters are interesting. Ms. Revis has built a pretty neat world aboard Godspeed I question the YA label of this book. There are some pretty detailed scenes in this book such as a near rape scene to name one. For parents wondering if it is good for under those YA under 16, I would say to use your own discretion.
