Spooky book. Deals with something that I think is so interesting but I won't say because I don't want to spoil it. There was one part that made my skin crawl though. Very good, I highly recommend it.

i really really really loved these books. For childrens literature, it was one of the most well written and intelligent trilogies i've read in a while. i did not find this book anti-Catholic in any way, shape or form. i mean, it's a fantasy story, for goodness sake. it does speak alot about anti-corruption and anti-tyranny in religion...and questions organized religion's means and methods of getting what they want. that being said, the book was fascinating, interesting and an amazing adventure story. the characters, especially Lyra and Will, were so deep and thoughtfully written...in fact, every character in the book had interesting backgrounds, histories and futures. i can't say that i wasn't invested in each and every one of their stories. i strongly recommend these books to anyone who likes a good fantasy story, magical worlds, strange mystery and overall fun reading!

Another thrift store find from many years ago. This is a practical guide to the study of military history from the United Sates Army. Although written with military officers in mind, anyone interested in the history of warfare will find it useful. About two-thirds of the text is an extensive bibliography of recommended texts, and I was checking off books that I had and books I would like to read someday.

Overall, Lord of the Isles was a fun read. The characters are all pretty likable and the world they live in is a bit different than your normal fantasy fare. However, the way the story goes the confluence of so many seemingly important people in one small little hamlet is pretty inexplicable. Perhaps the fates have as much to do with the characters placement as it did with my stumbling upon the book in a bargin bin a couple years ago. Either way it's an enjoyable and simple read and one I recommend if you're looking for some light fantasy.

this was a fun story. the main theme was two assistant producers vieing for the producers spot..one of these women was doing very unkind things inorder to "win" the position...there was also a nice romance thrown in...all in all this was worth the read...try it if you are looking for light and meaningless!!

This is one of the best Self Teaching Guides I found on the subject of Precalculus. The author really takes the time to set you up with an introduction to the subject matter of each chapter and section in the chapter, then gives examples and solved problems, which he solves step by step. I loved it though it did not have linear Algebra in it, only Algebra, and Trigonometry.
