extremely good. i never thought the last few pages really bring tears to my eyes.
Sophie is half-wolf/half-human. Her mother is a witch and her father is a werewolf. She never knew him. Her mother took her to the US to keep her safe. Sophie tries very hard to keep her wolfyness at ease. She works and has a human lawyer boyfriend. She gets thrown for a loop when her mother is arrested for killing a Senator with a poisoness love potion and the arrival a hottie werewolf Tom. Sophie and her BFF Lindsey do some snooping to try and figure out who really killed the Senator. They are pretty funny. Sophie talking about Tom was funny too. Vampires are mentioned in the book but we never meet any. This dragged at times but it was fun with a good mystery. Liked: Good mystery Disliked: Slow at times Favorite Character: Tom Least Favorite Character: Sally http://www.roseysreview.com/2011/11/b...

A bit far fetched but good read. Scary that NSa can reach so deep into our lives thru their listening and evaluations of telephone and email.

I bought this e-book for the information and read it for the pleasure. Tarr's voice is conversational and entertaining as she breaks down the basics of horses for writers who aren't horse-savvy. Whether writing about real life breeds or making up one's own special magical horses, this book is a must have, and a bargain at only $4.99.

Atruly unique and awesome setting. Prob tied with the Dragon Blooded as my 2nd fave after the Abyssal book. If you like a sorta steampunk, FF, Technomagic setting, then this is for you!!!

Certainly not as good as the previous ones in the series.. Although this may sound bad, I couldn't wait to finish the book..

This book was fantastic...and confusing. I wish that I knew latin and german and italian and greek and hebrew and (fill in the blank) so that I could have followed the entirety of the dialogue, but even without such means, Eco's story is a profound philosphical account of reading and books and knowledge in general set in a Medieval abbey in Northern Italy. Even for those who are just looking for a good book to read, this would certainly suffice. It is just fascinating.

As I was reading this book, Bruegel's famous painting, The Parable of the Blind Leading the Blind popped into my mind. It is about how helpless humanity is against the cruelty of the reality of existence, and I couldn’t help wondering whether Saramago may have been influnced by this painter's works. Through this painting, the painter depicts the dangers of a collective blindness that reflects a spiritual as well as a physical handicap. It was as though these two artists of two very different ages were looking at the world through the same glasses. Hasn't all the time that passed by in between changed people in the least? Are people still in a white blindness?

"I tell her I want to die first. I've gotten so used to her that I would feel miserably incomplete. We are two views of the same person. I would spend the rest of my life turning to speak to her. No one there, a hole in space and time. She claims my death would leave a bigger hole in her life than her death would leave in mine. This is the level of our discourse. The relative size of holes, abysses and gaps. We have serious arguments on this level. She says if her death is capable of leaving a large hole in my life, my death would leave an abyss in hers, a great yawning gulf. I counter with a profound depth of void. And so it goes into the night."
