** spoiler alert ** BEST ONE BY FAR!!!!!!!!!!!! I KNEW DR.STEVE WAS EVIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I CAN'T BELIVE CAMMIE ALMOST COMMITED SUICIDE!!!!!!!! I felt that this one in the series had the most violence. I couldn't put this book down the minute I picked it up! I was hooked by the first page! I LOVE zach goode!!!! I now have a habit of saying 'whopssie daisy' like liz!!! i can't wait for teh next book to come out!

The track team. A band of naked guys running through Buffalo wearing only boots and hats during blizzards. Rampant alcoholism. That feeling they gave me when I first got here. All the Buffalo sights and sounds that make it specific. The billboard. The artist lofts. Let's play a game. I'm just going to describe an image and that's the game. Now you see it. Now two thugs are outside wanting to beat you up cause we are hanging out and I dated one of them for a week two years ago. The things people hold on to. This book was about a guy trying to find power and meaning in his life, being a 30 year old person making greeting card slogans, with a mom in a nursing home with alzheimers disease. He gives her a stuffed green frog. He walks around with other people holding their hands, and listening to their mumbling. What if as the days went by, the past didn't exist even the most recent moment? How terrifying would that be?

Up to the author's usual high standard. Intelligent, good science mixed with wild speculation and some trenchant observations about American politics and society. The characters are not cardboard. On the negative side, the author's personal epiphanies may be deeply meaningful to him, but they have no place here, are unrelated to the subject or the plot, and merely intrude on our pleasure. The mystery of why some of the characters make odd Freudian slips from time to time is also unexplained.

Oh my... you haven't read this book? You poor dear. I suspect that the reason why this book is not read in the United States is because the grey men are working very hard to keep it off the shelves. It is moments, not time, that is precious.
