This was my first complete audiobook and I have to say I really enjoyed it. The characters were great and I loved hearing the different voices. I liked the robot, he reminded me of Eeyore and also enjoyed Arthur's character. It was very enjoyable overall.

I stayed awake wondering where the whole world was when all this was happening. Then I started thinking that in 50 years someone will be wondering what did our generation do during rwanda, dafur and iraq.

It's not too different than what you might expect from the cover, but better in all the ways it is different. Mostly you forget this novel was written by Brian Evenson, but when you remember, it's because you've stumbled upon a sentence or paragraph that could only come from a master. Most of the sentences and paragraphs, however, make me wonder about the boundary between a master's economy and a hack's simple lack of depth. But aside from its entertainment value, the best part of this book is the way it addresses those preconceptions that even the broad-minded still often have of genre fiction.

The first book in the Chandler series and the second book in the Taggert series by Jude Deveraux. Set in the American West in 1892, Houston Chandler is betrothed to Dr. Lee Westfield but then comes Kane Taggert. Houston has the appearance of a proper, young lady but she has a secret. She disguises herself as an old woman and visits the mines, delivering medicines and other supplies. Not my favorite of the Jude Deveraux series but it was pretty good.

Favorite Quotes …a cynic who was still saddened whenever his jaundiced view of mankind was confirmed... I inhale hope with every breath I take. …she remembered watching a summer sunset from this very spot. Not so long ago; just a lifetime. It was just like him, she thought; with him, a happy ending was always a foregone conclusion. But such was the power of his faith that when she was with him; she found herself believing in happy endings, too.

Sí, uno no comprende lo profundo y novedosa que fue esta novela en los 40's hasta que escarba un poco en el contexto en que fue escrita, tal y como lo hace Joseph Frank en el primer volumen de su biografía de Dostoyevski.

Very strange book. Namely, that it takes a Iranian perspective on the Arabic language and that the content is almost completely written in English. I have shown this to a couple of native Arabic speakers who were able to immediately identify that it was produced in Iran. What is most odd though is that the book uses sentences as examples which aren't used in Arabic, and that I haven't ever heard or read in old "classic" Arabic. Just odd... The highlight of the book is the analysis of Arablic Grammar which was clarifying and concise, and arranged in progressive chapters. A major downpoint is that all of the exercises given in the chapters have no solutions set or supplementary solutions manual. So without a direct person instructing you, you dont have a hope of knowing if you are completing the many exercises correctly. If you are looking for a textbook to learn Arabic I wouldn't recommend this book, but if you are only looking for a reference grammmar on the language it is interesting.
