I honestly can't believe that I just now got around to finally reading this series. I've read her YA series "The Summoning'" and really enjoyed it. I'm surprised it's taken me this long to read Her Otherworld series. however, once I started to watch that syfy show "Bitten" it certainly made its way up to the to of my TBR pile. I love Elena and Clay!

I never read this as a kid the way a lot of folks I know did. The writing style is very dated, which certainly explains why so many people who do read it as kids have really awful experiences/memories of it and end up really hating it. Nobody writes like that anymore. I think I appreciate it much more now than I would have then. Absolutely the ultimate quest tale, and I completely enjoyed going along on the journey.

I was pleasantly surprized - Anne O'Brien was able to write about a topic I am very familiar with & yet her writing made the story an interesting read,despite the well-known subject matter. Before becoming an author, Anne O'Brien was a history teacher in the U.K. & because of that, I believe her books are much more accurate. I'm looking forward to reading more of her books. (Already read & enjoyed "The Virgin Widow" & "The King's Concubine.")

I'm just rating it two stars to be generous. I didn't very much like this book - I saw it as slow and boring. It was a bit guessable, and it took too long for the secret about his eyes to be leaked (I mean how he got that way) so I lost interest in it. However, my teacher loves the book (she's read it for like, 12 years straight, every year) and made us read it in class together. I didn't really like it, along with the rest of my class, but no one wanted to make her sad about it. I would advise you to stay away from it, but that's just my opinion. A lot of other people like it. I am not one of those people.

The best book of the series so far I think. It had everything you could imagine... drama, romance, action, comedy... all wrapped in one amazing book! So good, but, you'll have to try it for yourself!
