I guess I've come in full circle with this series. I know it's not over yet, but when I first started this it was the day before Christmas Eve, I think. It was somewhere around Christmas. My family and I were in Phoenix to visit my brother, and wanted to go to the mall in Scottsdale. Well, they had a Borders that would be closing soon, so of course I had to investigate. It was nearly impossible, though, because there was stacks of books everywhere, covering books that were already on the shelves. I did find a cool photography book about abandoned insane asylums, and some cello CDs by Bach (yeah, I still listen to CDs). I was browsing the teen section, in the area where they have books about girls in prestigious schools with rich parents, when I spotted Deadly Little Lies. At the time, I didn't know it was the second of a series. But I really like reading about psychic powers, which doesn't seem to be a popular genre in YA anymore. So I bought it and read it at our hotel after my brother and I watched Ghost (ironic, yes?). It didn't take me long to realize it was the second book (who was Matt?! Had he really recently kidnapped this girl?), but I decided to read it anyways, since the author explained everything. I really liked it, and ended up buying the first one on my iPod, because the other Borders by the Cheesecake Factory was closing down as well, but didn't have it. It, arguably, wasn't as great as the second. But I read the third, and when I just happened to see this fourth one sticking out in my neighborly Barnes and Noble, which is also closing. OKAY, back to the actual book, Voices. I did like this book. I liked seeing Wes and Kimmie again, and her mom's vegan tendencies and her really cool dad. But there was something missing...maybe Camilia's brain? There is one girl she suspects might be in danger, and even to the end she is still positive it's her, even when all the signs obviously say it's not. It was during these moments in the book that I just wanted to smack her or shake her. That's not exactly bad, because it means I actually care about the characters and what happens to them. I was up late last night, determined to finish the last 13 chapters or so. Which I did, around midnight. Now it's Christmas Eve, and I woke up today realizing I started the series around this time. So much has changed in a year, not just in the books but in my life. Most of the changes are good...really good, in my opinion. I have to say two more things... 1. OMFG THE ENDING. It made me so mad, not at the author but the characters. I mean, really dude? That's a great way to start a relationship! 2. WHY is every book store in the state closing down?!
