Grandpa loses his teeth and suspects that a thief stole them. But not even Officer Rate's investigation turns them up. The whole town begins to smile all day, every day to avoid being pegged as the thief. Will Grandpa ever find his teeth? Great book for mystery lovers. Detailed illustrations.

What a book! So Poetic and beautifully written, i was sad when it ended. Different from other books iv'e read, im so glad i read it:) I was a little dissapointed with the ending because i thought it would be something much bigger and dramatic that would happen, but i guess the book is supposed to be about 'ordinary people, ordinary lives' and someone getting runover is a more ordinary thing to happen than say, a nuclear bomb.

*This review contains a bit of spoilers if you haven't read Archangel's Blood & Archangel's Kiss* Reenter Nalini Singh’s unique world filled with angels, vampires and guild hunters (vampire hunters). Elena is one of the top active guild hunters and from the beginning of her story to now, her life has taken a drastic turn that she could have never imagined. What do you expect from a woman who hunts vampires for a living, right? Elena now finds herself in love with Raphael, the archangel of New York and a newly turned angel herself, which was impossible, up until now. Elena tries hard to get her life on track while dealing with being a newly made angel, her relationship with Raphael and the new and unknown threat to the world. She defiantly has got her hands filled. The story brings a whole new twist on the phrase “guess who’s coming to town”. I really enjoyed Nalini’s writing an Archangel Consort is no different. With the guild hunter series Nalini breathed new life into angels and vampires that are strongly unique but actually works within the story. There’s a dark edge and power to the angels and vampires that intrigues me. I enjoyed the journey that Elena goes through and how things didn’t come easy for her. There was a lot of blood, sweat and tears that she went through in trying to solve this case. She didn’t just wake up and was this all powerful being now. She had to learn and grow and fight for what she wanted. Including her relationship with Raphael. There was a good balance of steamy sexy scenes and scenes where Raphael and Elena got to know each other better as well as their relationship as a couple. Showing their secrets and vulnerability to each other with the situations tossed at them. No instant happily ever after here, which I really appreciated. There are so many great characters within the book, mainly Raphael’s Seven (you’ll understand when you read it), with such interesting backgrounds themselves that I wanted to more about them. I wanted them to have more of a presence within the story then they already had which I don’t know if that is a bad or good thing? Possible branch off series? There was a lot of mystery and intrigue with finding out who the threat was and I love the added danger. Nalini really kept me guessing all the way to the end of the story with how the story would pay out. In reconciliation or bloodshed? And I have to say that the ending left possibilities that could be further explored while leaving me satisfied. Archangel Consort really kept me entertained from the beginning of the story all the way up to the end. The world that Nalini Singh created had all the danger, intrigue, mystery and romance to keep a reader entertained.

Irritating heroine (for a fantastically wild change), although the hero was okay. The twins were kind of interesting and creepy, and most of the characters were... not well developed, but bearable to read about. The involvement of the potion was another iffy point because it felt like that was what pulled the main characters together (and not twu wuv!). I guess I should have anticipated this, seeing as this is a 'Novel of Sensual Destiny.' (Please.) In essence, the book was totally humdrum and Miss Lily Lambert was a total fool who did not at all come across as a woman who'd had to work as a governess/companion for a living. She seemed like a cross, spoiled child. Of course, Holt did her best to make the character very sad and lonely and poor, but... it didn't work. I felt no sympathy for her whatsoever. Boring.

Meh. I did not think it was as good as its hype.

It is not just a book for Philosophy 101. In paraphrasing the arguments of Deleuze, Guattari, Foucault and gang, it puts forth their difficult concepts in less difficult terms. I'm not saying that the book will be an easy read (it is not!) but it does away with the assumption that you have a working knowledge of classical and cartesian philosophy. De Landa, in tracing the history of society, presents us with his interpretations of the Deluzian universe and provides us with a platform and basic understanding before the we take the plunge and tackle Anti-Oedipus, The Fold or A Thousand Plateaus. If you are an architect/student seeking to suss out post-modern architecture's obsession with folds and nonlinear dynamic systems, this is a must read introduction. Oh and by-the-way, being laid out by Bruce Mau himself lends this book a certain degree of swag-value among your designer-friends.

I have to now go and take a few happiness showers because this book is SO bleak- well, the trilogy is bleak, so i'm not sure why i was surprised by the darkness of all three books. It does get a little taxing trying to keep motivated to read such intense sadness and ugliness. Ugh. But by far this one was the better of the three. I just wish it wasn't so long- sometimes the journey just draggggssss... and the pay off in the end is not that great. So you hang on to get a cool reward for sticking with the story- and nope, just more darkness and sadness. I think I'm going to read some Julia Child or something funny because i'm just so tired of dystopian nightmare love stories.

Alanna's brother recommended this book. He also recommended WHAT IS THE WHAT, so I trusted him. This book went back and forth between the past and present while Willie goes on a search for her biological father. I found the historical portions tedious. I think the book would have worked without the past. The characters are over the top.

Picked this up because my daughter Alana owns a large pit/shepherd mix. Glad to learn that with a lot of special skill and love most of these dogs were able to pass beyond their emotional and physical scars into full, loving lives. Many are becoming service dogs. This book reaffirms what I already knew about how affectionate pitbulls are. This much maligned breed is working hard to gain back public favor. They so deserve it. People are really missing out on fantastic dogs because of needless fear.
