This book was amazing. I work with children with Autism and it was such an insight into what they deal with every day. I loved how positive much of it was and was blown away when I remembered that the author did not have Autism. Have recommended this book to many people.

In modern conflict there is the notion that somehow today's battlefields are more 'lethal' than yesterday's. But one cannot make this argument after reading about Junger's implausible tale of survival fighting on the German side during World War I. If one were to write a war novel and have their main character survive the wounds Junger did, it would be hard to imagine that character as credible. The writing is highly readable nearly one hundred years later and lays out daily life in the trenches in fascinating detail. Anyone interested in this subject should pick this book up.

What an absolute delight to read anything Kingsolver writes. I can't wait to get my hands on her new one, although I must admit I don't enjoy her husband's (steven hopp who co-wrote the new one) input in her work. She is such a master, so gifted and fluid which makes his writing appear dusty and stale next to hers.

It's my first Dickens, so I didn't know what to expect when I borrow it in bibliothek. I just know that it just a classic book. Reading this book, remain me of others novel from Miss Austen. They lived in nearly same years. A romantic years. So I found also few similarities, like how the people lived in classes, how they behaved, etc. I found this book quite interesting. Though it's thick and the syllables were tiny. Like it said in the review, the characters are unique. Like Pip who found his own way at the end. How unhappy Miss Havisham was, etc.

Això, encara que no ho sembli, és un elogi, perquè el text és absolutament trepidant i addictiu fins el final, en una història que fa dubtar constantment el lector de si la protagonista pateix paranoies o és víctima d'una conspiració, en la línia del millor Hitchcock. Literàriament el text és pobre o fins i tot mediocre, però una cosa compensa l'altra.
