I feel stupid because so many people raved about this book but I did not like it at all. Yes, I learned some very interesting facts that I didn't know about POWs in the hands of the Japanese and there were parts that were quite enthralling but overall this book was really tough for me to get through. I personally don't like the way Hillenbrand rights. She's so wordy and goes into so much detail it just drags. I found myself skipping paragraphs then pages to just get through. So overall, it was ok, but not a must read, for me.

Captain Jack Aubrey and Stephen Maturin are on an “black ops” mission aattempting to take a fortified island fighting through red hot cannon balls and mortars. I found it fascinating to better understand the intricacies necessary to go to battle with only the use of wind power. The ship is lost and they are captured – this time in Napoleon’s France! Espionage and even romance. I’m looking forward to the next book.

This was the first graphic novel I've ever read. The style is definitely different than what I'm used to. I thought the story was fun, and it was certainly a quick read. (I hesitate to count it as reading 144 pages because it's mostly pictures.) I enjoyed it enough to pick up the sequel when I get a chance.
