Ständig pubertäre, perverse, hilflos sexuelle Zwangsgedanken des Ich-Erzählers bilden den Hauptteil dieser Erzählung über die Leiden, Qualen, Ängste und Visionen des 16-jährigen Thorsten. Der Nicht-ganz-aber-irgendwie-doch-Loser verbringt seine Ferien im christlichen Ferienlager 1977 an der Ostsee. Fleckenteufel ist trotz unter der Gürtellinie nicht billig, vielmehr wird dies persifliert. Am Cover erkennt man schon die Anspielung auf Feuchtgebiete von Charlotte Roche, aber Fleckenteufel parodiert nicht nur, sondern zeigt sich auch satirisch, wenn es um die Ferienfreizeit mit den alten Kirchenfreizeitliedern, die jeder kennt (selbst wer nicht getauft ist, um "Danke" kommt einfach keiner herum) oder um die dazu passenden Sprüche-T-Shirts geht. Und letztendlich kennt jeder die typischen Geschehnisse auf Klassenfahrten, Ferienfreizeiten etc. Grossartig erzählt Heinz Strunk davon. Ob Parodie oder nicht, voll gelungen ... irgendwie geil ...

This book is so well written and beautiful. he really grabs your attention and makes you incest so much into these character. At the end he crushes everything it was all a lie. When I read it I didn't know whether or not to laugh or cry it was the perfect plot twist but also the cruelest.

I found the concept of this book to be really interesting in itself, even before reading it. I mean, come on! Who writes a story from the perspective of an autistic boy? I would recommend this book for anyone that ponders why we do things and think about things certain ways. What is logic and reason, really? I enjoyed the honesty of this story in which a young autistic lad decides it is up to him to solve the mystery of who killed his neighbors dog!

I found this first novel by the doctor-turned-author to be troubling in a couple ways. First, the subject matter gets to be so heavy and devastating. If something can go wrong for someone in this story, it almost certainly will. One scene in particular left me sitting around silent for the rest of that evening. Second, the narrator got to be whiny and ingratiating to me. Was this Hosseini's intent? I don't quite think so. Amir (narrator) also makes some questionable decisions even as an adult. He left me shaking my head at some turns of fate, and so did some of the coincidences that happen in the book, for they are many. Still, The Kite Runner is highly readable. The bandwagon for this book is cruising. I can see why people take to it. There's also a CliffsNotes-styled history lesson about mid-1970s strife in Afghanistan with the Russian invasion, too. This covers the inception of the Taliban, and the descriptions are chilling in light of 21st-century (read: current) events.
