When teacher Fiona MacPherson and eight teenage students are caught in a heavy snowstorm, they seek shelter a Thunder Mountain Lodge. Due to the storm, the lodge has no guests, so lodge owner John Fallon can’t do anything but welcome them despite the wounded Iraq veteran’s longing for solitude. As the storm rages on, the teenagers are having fun, as it seems like a winter holiday, although John has his hands full with cooking, cleaning and laundry for ten people. Fiona makes sure the kids take turns helping, she helps too, and the more she and John interact, the more they realize their attraction to each other. I enjoyed this sweet love story. Although the story was a bit predictable, the interaction with the teens was refreshing, as they did a little matchmaking for their teacher and the “hunky” lodge owner.

Really slow, a lot of the main character, the lawyer and his mystic wife and her sisters. Not a whole lot of action, just a lot of talk about "what's good" and "ethics" etc... Good "inner conflict" reading and maybe good for summer years, but not good for me.

Graceling is a sweet story of a girl who is supernaturally gifted with the grace of killing and recruited into working for her uncle, the King, as his young "lady killer" (aka hitman). She secretly fights against the oppressive monarchies that govern the 7 countries in the hopes of making up for the lives she's forced to take under her uncles command. I loved this story! The characters bring the fictional world to life and are completely engaging.... you can't help but cheer for Katsa and Po. I am eagerly waiting for the release of the next book in the series, Fire, I'm sure it will be equally enjoyable.

Tim Moore's first book and it shows; it's scatty in places, the reason he's off on the trip isn't really that clear and the prose is a bit wonky. However, it's still a pretty good read and interesting to see where the genius of continental drifter, french revolutions and spanish steps began.

In a word ... awesome!I'm a huge fan of horror movies, especially this franchise. I wasn't sure how well a story such as this would come off on paper, but S.D Perry does an amazing job telling this story. The writing is great, very detailed. I can't wait to reaad the next book!
