Peabody's relationship with Eve moves to a new level. The unmotherly Eve is like a mama bird in this book; she's pushing Peabody out of the nest knowing she's ready to fly. My first "review"! When I started reading this, I hated it, and couldn't remember what drove me to pick it up in the first place. The whole tone of it, from the 5-year-old Jack's point of view, just annoyed me. BUT... I kept going! I ended up loving it, hating to put it down. While the plot is rather familiar in a "ripped from the headlines" sort of way, it had a lot of sweetness and wonder when told from the point of view of Jack, who had only ever known his room.

A cute, enjoyable, and very contemporary high school story about dealing with change and loss. I hope that the rest of DC's "Minx" line are this strong, because good, "female-oriented" comics have been few & far between at "The Big Two".

I love this series. The story starts with a woman named Sarah, who works as a Night Keeper at a school for supernatural creatures, which secretly coexists with a school for humans, who have their own Day Keeper. When she dissapears and nobody seems to remember that she even existed, her homeschooled sister Alex and her astral companion (Alex is a weirn, a type of witch) are determined to get to the bottom of what happened. Chmakova doesn't just do great manga (like Dramacon), she does great comics. Her artwork is still wonderful, her sense of humor still never fails to make me laugh, and her storylines are still strong and engaging. Well done. My only complaint is I wish the series were longer.
