Fascinating, disgusting, and hilariously written from the first sentence. I couldn't stop reading bits of it aloud to my friends regardless of whether or not they were interested (or had just eaten). One of the things that most amazed me reading this was the realization of how little I know about all the insane shit that people spend their days doing. Like, holy crap, it's actually someone's job to walk around a field filled with dead bodies and take notes on the rate of decomposition. Someone actually receives a paycheck for sawing off the heads of human cadavers for lab use. Plus the chapter on decomposition is really eye-opening. Really makes you reconsider burial. The sad fact is, a zombie invasion just won't be possible when I turn into an oozing flesh puddle. So now I'm not sure what to do with my organs...

This book was recommended by someone at work...I think that they were hoping to teach this displaced Yankee a little Southern gentility! It was a quick, easy read, and made me laugh in several places, so it was worth the time....a good mindless enjoyment....

A classic that everyone should read and when I can't find anything else to read, I'll re-read this one. I also use the lessons in this book to make sure I never judge a Boo Radley based on what others are saying and instead learn for myself by "steping into another mans shoes and walking around a little bit."

I first read this book in 5th grade and I have probably read it 10 times since then. It is about Juli Baker who is in love with Bryce to the point of obsession. As soon as Bryce starts to have the same feelings about Juli, she doesn't like him anymore. I thought that it was a kind of sad but cute quick read. It made me think about how you don't realize what you have until its gone and how you have to be grateful and not take things for granted. It was a sweet story about love and I would recommend it to teens who like girly novels.

I devoured this book in about 48 hours and then struggled for almost 2 years with Atlas Shrugged. Similar themes - but I thought the story was more tightly told and controlled in this work than her later "masterwork".
