A story about a couple of look-a-likes who get mistaken for one another and step in and out of each others lives... a good idea? The premise has promise, but something in the delivery of the story gets in the way. The prose style is very image-driven; reading like a series of blurred images, not unlike an impressionist painting, all building to create an overall sense of the relationship between the two main characters, Kevin Thunder and Gerald Spain. This definitely has me wanting more of Harmony. Great short story. Alien ghosts, psychics, humans living on an alien world, and romance. Gotta love it. Cannot read to read the next in this series.

I've read some of the other reviews and agree with most that this is an easy read. That's what makes it so enjoyable. Otherwise, the subject matter (patients with dementia) could be hard to read about. Watching a loved one lose themselves to dementia is heartbreaking. I found this story about Dr. Dosa, his patients and Oscar an interesting read. How does Oscar do what he does? Does it really matter? He brings comfort to families and patients during one of their most vulnerable, lonely and trying times of their lives.

I really like reading these books with things outside of the television series and OVA. It's very interesting to see what the pilots are up to all the time. They never seem to have boring lives, haha. This one was short, but still very good.

I wanted to like this, I really did; but I found the prose style disjointed and as a result probably skimmed it rather than reading it properly. There was some lovely imagery, but I didn't find either of the main characters sympathetic, and as one sad memory piled on top of another I found myself increasingly wishing it would all just be over and done with.

I don't know if it's just me, but Volume 5 was weaker than the previous. I do find it interesting that the world has turned against the Slayers due to Harmony now being a reality star. But the issues seemed ranged from ridiculous to just mediocre. The Vampy Cat issue wasn't enjoyable to read and The Faith/Giles one fell flat. I did like the Andrew story (esp his geek bonding w/ Buffy) and Living Doll was kinda fun. Overall, the experience was underwhelming. :-\

Jodi Picoult wrote another great book. Her attention to detail is amazing. I couldn't put this book down and found that every free minute I had I was reading a page. Nineteen Minutes is definitely a book that relates to the real world today with Columbine and other schools that had tragedies happen.
