Another cliff hanger...now we have to wait for "Bonnie" the final chapter of the trilogy to learn what happens. This novel starts with Quinn in the Hospital following the stabbing in "Eve". The plot goes through the original meeting of Eve and Quinn, the time Bonnie was taken. The present action consists of Catherine and Gallo going after the people (it looks as though there was more than one) who took Bonnie and fighting their mutual attraction while Eve and Quinn deal with his hospitalization. The climax has them all together for the cliff hanger. Now we wait for "Bonnie".

** spoiler alert ** I enjoyed Shadow of the Wind. The more I think about it though, the more I feel like I shouldn't have enjoyed it that much. The present day story and Julian Carax's story are a little too parallel to be believed. Most of the plot points were predictable. The ties that binded Julian and Daniel weren't thick enough. I barely believed Julian would spy a complete stranger who was trying to pry into his life just because the stanger may or may not be in the same predicament as the one Julian is trying to erase. But while I was reading it, I was into it. So if I could give 3 1/2 stars I would.

The Great War and the Great Game continue. This time the entire Emerson clan follows Ramses on his assignment to Gaza. Meanwhile, they have hired a very competent, eager young, Egyptian girl, and her lazy, incompetent brother, who may be involved in the discovery and pilfering of a very important tomb. They are also having to deal with an obnoxious American famnily who seems bent on openly dealing in stolen antiquities. All in all, it's just anoher season in Egypt for the Emersons, which is always a delight for readers!

** spoiler alert ** Claidi is simply fabulous as usual, but the ending was upsetting. (EDIT: Actually that's the first chapter of the next book. The ending is hopeful!) You really do have to read the whole series because stopping part way through will leave lots of things unresolved.

This book should be in the non-fiction section it is so true! If fact while trying to write this review I had to pause for more than an hour because I was watching a Boss Baby that insisted on being held :). Maybe I shouldn't have read her this book, gave her ideas it did! So anyways Boss Baby is like all babies, he wants what he wants when he wants it. His employees (his parents) better ask "how high?" when he says jump.
