Could not finish it! I really tried to hang on because of the good reviews. Maybe if I had read the book Lolita or other novels the author discusses, it would have been easier to follow along. Definitely not an easy read.

New ideas, well written, entertaining. A new take on Super Heroes, unknowing humans have the ability to manifest super powers under the right condition or with the help of "Muse" A big blue horse pill that triggers the powers for a short time. Interesting concept. I liked the decided lack of Damsel in Distress. I'll read the next one when it comes out.

I can’t even imagine the horror Darznik must have felt as she listened to her mother talk about the endless suffering she experienced as a young girl growing up in a religiously conservative area of Iran, before foreigners began moving in and the cultural revolutions of the sixties and seventies became part of the norm.... Ok, my friend told me to read Neil Gaiman, but I think I shouldn't have started with this one. It was pretty dull for a majority of the story... the ending was good, I guess, but I had a hard time caring because I hadn't been the whole book. So whatever. I'm just glad to be done with it... is that bad?

In preparation for Spring Break trip to Machu Pikachu. And that ain't Peru, Indiana. Talk about pluck. This guy Bingham really got out there. Book was useful for information on something I had absolutely no knowledge of, and provided good background for the trip. Not the most fun or interesting of reads, though, and I wouldn't recommend it for pleasure reading.

Brilliant dialogue in a fascinating setting. Who would have thought that a crime novel could be so entertaining? This story id filled with laughs and drama. The author has mastered the art of bringing a story to life. I can see Hollywood knocking on his door. This really should be on the big screen!

All of Pat Conroy's novels are essentially the same: there's a male narrator who is a Southern smartass, and he has to deal with his eccentric and maniacal family members. This one is actually worth reading, as far as I remember, although I admit that I read it in high school when I still considered The Bell Jar to be a great literary achievement.
