Book #10 of 2009 This is one of the better Covert One novels I believe. There wasn't quite as much going back and forth between widely different settings and circumstances. Also, although there was an attempt to kill Jon Smith, it didn't take up a lot of the book as in other installments. Jon spent much of the time searching for who was behind the Lazarus Movement's attacks, and not as much time chasing those responsible. Once again, Jon teemed up with Randi and Peter to complete his mission. The plot centered around one man attempting to start a global massacure with biological/chemical weapons called nanophanges. Through the course of the book, he carried out three "tests" civilians, and then used the Lazarus movement to blame the US government (which was surprisingly effective. I would have asked how one man knew the government's workings so well). Borrowed from the library.

Again...I'm not REALLY finished with this book. But I'm just finished reading it. If that makes any sense. And I don't think I'm gonna rate this book either, since there is a chance that I will one day pick this book up. Because it wasn't entirely dumb or boring. It's about this stupid British girl named Gemma(how do you pronounce that? Like a 'j' or an actual 'g'). Anyway, I didn't like her name. So...she's at the airport being a brat with her parents and she goes and gets some coffee(note: she's like...16?). And then this guy is like eying and he comes up behind her and pays for her coffee because she doesn't have the right kind of money. Right. So he puts 'sugar' and 'cream' into her drink while she finds a seat and...guess what? When she drinks it, it turns out that it wasn't 'sugar' and 'cream'! He drugged her! Oh gosh(sarcastically). Somehow, he(this creep named Ty) talks her into going to Australia(not that she can really argue)...and she ends up getting on a plane(s) and ends up in Australia. And then she learns to like him and blah blah. The thing is, I could see that plot coming miles away. I mean, Ty is like this attractive looking 20 year old or something, who's in love with her or something. And this Gemma girl is like 16, so of course SOMETHINg's gonna happen. Sigh...I just wish that she hadn't spent so much time talking about how everything looked. I know that's the point of the story. But still...it was annoying anyway. Oh, and it was written in letter form(obviously), which means that it was in second person(i.e. 'you are' 'you did'). I guess that was okay but...I don't know. Overall, it wasn't a bad book(at least the half I read) but it had a few problems(that, and it was due at the library). ~After finally REALLY finishing this darn book~ (July, 2011) Okay, so now I'm rating this book, because I actually honestly finished it. It was rough. I've been reading it since April for gosh sakes. APRIL! While I liked Ty and Gemma as characters and even thought that Ty's passion for the desert was cute and all, it just didn't do it for me. I think the description of scenery and the fact that it was in 2nd person threw me off. And I just now realized how really much older Ty is than Gemma(however you say her darn name). Nine years! So she's 15 and he's a bout 24. Wow.... Anyway, to put it shortly, I didn't HATE this book as much as I thought I did. In fact, I read the last 100 pages in about five hours. But overall, it wasn't very captivating until the end (and parts of the beginning), and by then I just wanted to finish the darn thing.

the hero grows up in this one and sails into murkier ethical waters. some more welcome backstory in some ways, thought some characters painfully undeveloped. matty's mom? matty's dad? wilson, the kooky chinese grandpa who turns out to be the head (or grandfather?)of a militia? but i guess this is what the next book is for...

lots of great pictures with a few interesting stories sprinkled throughout; not for the casual fan but worth checking out for a geek.

Fast read and entertaining, but a little slow at the end.

Expected it to be as good as the author's previous book, but it didn't do much for me. I read it because I thought I'd be able to relate to the main character being a 42 year old woman like me and I've found this age to be a very introspective one so far. But no, the book really wasn't anything I could relate to, and parts of it were too far-reaching for me.

The writing itself wasn't very good but the story and the information about the dangers and physics of diving are fantastic.

A story that reminds us that sometimes we have to be careful about who our friends are and that we should forgive and forget like children.
- My Description - Kathleen works at the public library & she hates it. Say what??! (How anyone could hate working in a library is beyond me.) She begins to receive threats via returned books accompanied by rather unusual bookmarks. Not to mention the accidents that follow Kathleen around like a shadow. The killer believes Kathleen is way overdue for her death. Time to check out? - My Review - I really enjoyed this book. I didn't care too much for Kathleen's character but her friends were just the type of friends anyone would want. I know I would. This book was enjoyable & kept me guessing till the very end. The killer was a complete surprise.

Bu kitap ile başladı biraz iplik kaybetti büyük başladı ama benim için çok garipti, çok uzak getirilmiş ama sanırım bu bitirmek için mücadele gibi olması gerekiyordu
