I got the distinct feeling from reading this book that someone came up to Jonathon Lethem and said, "Write a book! But don't take too long! And don't make it too long!" So that's what he did. And now we have this weird, stripped down thing that moves too fast in places and has a "love story" that I knew was coming but couldn't believe. I mean...of course they get together, but isn't the point of every love story the reason why? Lethem deftly plucks that point out of the novel, leaving me irritable. There are plenty of things to like about this book, but the love story is just plain weird. Maybe if it'd been titled "'Roos and Rock," I could have dealt with it better. But since it was "You Don't Love Me Yet," whatever. I'm hoping Lethem's next foray will be more rewarding. Bring on the high word count!

"Trouble at 30,000 feet." This is a fast paced story from the start that grabs your attention and holds it with well defined characters, an exotic location and an intriguing search for a missing father.Heart stopping adrenaline mixed with knee trembling passion makes for a great read.

I really liked this book - I would give it a 4.5 if half stars were allowed. Taylor writes a convincing, poignant, and poetical (at times) spiritual memoir in the veins of Kathleen Norris. Her writing is quite good, but not as clear or as crafted as Norris's. At times a sad story, it ends on a redemptive note. My only complaint with this book is that, while I could sense her need to abandon her role as a clergyperson, she goes pretty much from "I love my church, I love my identity as a priest, I love what I'm doing" to the polar opposite without a lot in between. She kind of gives a sense of where all this angst comes from, but it arises so suddenly and almost inexplicably that it seems like maybe its NOT related to what she's doing but to something entirely different that she's not able to put her finger on. I recommend this book to anyone who has every doubted or struggled with their faith.

I thought this book was incredibly funny. The ending is wonderful and happy. I think all of William Shakespeare’s plays are amazing.

.....here is a wonderful novel about the choices we make in love - and how it affects our lives. I was really blown away by this novel and recommend it to all and sundry. The writing was so smart, and not in an "aren't I clever with pop references?" way which many chick-lit authors do. Not that this is "chick lit" - far from it in depth and scope. Although it was hard to follow the parallel worlds at first, I really got into it and was turning the pages with excitement to see what would come next. I am an avid reader and have read many many books for the past 20 years and am always looking for a new voice. This book really spoke to me about the nature of love, commitment, the pull and mystery of sex. CHECK IT OUT!! I loved it and recommend it to any woman, esp. in late 20's-40s, when the choices of partner one makes defines our world (yet at an age where we can still think about the 'what if' factor). WONDERFUL NOVEL. I can see why Lionel Shriver has won awards with her writing. P.S. Another treat, for me, was reading about expatriate life in London. For anyone who's lived abroad or experienced the UK - resonates!

I love time travel stories. I've even kicked around a time travel idea for my own writing. (I've written a few paragraphs). The premise of this particular book's take on time travel seemed interesting but it just didn't hold up well. I was disappointed.

Not too much substance in this book. Doting husband/father gets killed and wife tries to figure out why. Does a better job than the police. Done.
