This would have been number 4. Voices was No. 3. Not as good as the others but still very good. I will keep reading his mysteries and see howit comes out with His children Eva Lind and Sindri.

Definitely an adult book! I great story that was somewhat ruined for me by the few provacative scenes.

I don't think I can say much more about this book than what is on the back of the book - Compelling, original...creepy, addictive...dark, distressing and disturbing...breaks the mold...completely entrancing...chilling and twisted...Cain is a wonderful and terrifying storyteller. I had a very hard time putting this book down. I was captivated from the first chapter and completely surprised at how quickly Cain had me invested in the characters of the story. I can't wait to read the next one!

Other than the occasional book recommended by Oprah's Book Cult, I realize that most books with "that" sticker are not for me.

Andrew Solomon treats various aspects of depression (including his personal experience with it) in this book, among which I found his exploration of the romanticizing of depression in literature, and the effects depression has in conjunction with poverty (a sort of chicken and egg question, he theorizes) to be particularly strong. I thought this was a thorough, enjoyable, and excellent book.

Very interesting female twist on Biblical stories - defnitely worth reading if you want something entertaining and well written.

This is the first tie-in novel I've read and I was pleasantly surprised. It read just like an episode of the show and Greg Cox did a great job on the characterization (I think that's the right word) and dialogue. I maybe didn't need to be reminded of so many of the artifacts we see in the show (and others), but that's hardly a deal breaker. All-in-all I was well pleased and would recommend this to any Warehouse 13 fan.

This book reminded me To Kill a Mockingbird, especially in the way that I really felt for the central female character ... Scout is spunky and funny, courageous and empathetic, much like Liesel; also, Atticus Finch has that quiet and gentle coating on a strong justice-minded core that reminded me of Hans Hubermann; the deep bond of childhood friendship between Scout and her brother Jem reminds me of Liesel and Rudy; and both stories deal with dissenters who risk their lives to stand up for justice in a community that openly upholds racist/prejudiced ideas and practices. I loved To Kill a Mockingbird from beginning to end. The BOOK THIEF, I loved by the book's end, but I was only feeling maybe 3 stars for the first part of it ... I didn't like Death as a narrator; I found him kind of annoying, and *at first* I didn't really feel that much for the child Liesel. But I got to really love the story. I loved the ending; I cried a lot, but they were good, sentimental tears. And Death wasn't so annoying when he was just basically chiming in to give you something like a weather report on a split-screen to tell you what was keeping Death occupied at the time. Something like ... Meanwhile, beyond all the high jinx and drama on Himmel Streel, Death was very busy claiming souls around the world. Those little parts I thought were very effective and non-obtrusive to the story. Also, well before the end of the book (due to plot details), I could see how important it was for Death to be the narrator. I read in the author's interview how much he struggled with exactly what Death's character would be like, and he actually changed that around quite a bit during the writing of the book. Some of the dissonance I felt at the beginning might have been due to the rewrites and editing ... but halfway through the book or so, the author seemed to really hit a stride with this Death character. So in the end, Death as Narrator won me over, and I thought he did great. Because I enjoyed the second half and the ending so much, I was trying to decide between 4 and 5 stars. But I will go with 4!
