It was interesting to discover Oscar Wilde's preferences, and it was even easier to understand his theme book. So far I am liking the book. It is also very interesting to learn the era type of thinking towards such a polemic issue. It was very interesting to find such a peculiar novel, totally different from what I have read so far. The first few chapters basically explains who is Dorian Gray. I love the English in which is written, it is a challenge for me to read it. The way is written can make you travel through time. Simply believe this book is worth to read.

I was desperate. In another country (non-English speaking) and this was the only book I could find. Again, it was years ago, but I found it full of platitudes. My friend I was staying with (german) LOVED it.

Good Book but slow moving, and it jumped around a lot. It was nice to finally finish the trilogy!
The unlikely friends are always good for a laugh, and this book is no different. The pictures are hilarious, as are the characters, particularly Gerald the Elephant. I can't get enough of Elephant and Piggie.

A good concise history of the countries formative years prior to the final drive to the period of devision that culminated in the Civil War. Lots of details on the social changes of the everyday world of the American citizenship as well as the economic and political changes that helped create the America we were to become. Here we see the end of the Revolutionary generation and rise of the first truly American generation (with all the problems and issues that still plague this land).

Quick read, nicely done — I really like the language, how it's written; it's a good match for the period in which it's set, almost like a Jane Austen without the light humor. The content of the story, goes from polite parlor room to erotic, though, so it may surprise some readers who came to this book for the Regency setting and yet dive in without reading the blurb. Hint: it's a little more than just a love triangle, folks. I liked it, though. Probably my only nitpick about it is that you don't really know who Cecilia ends up marrying. It's left open in a bit of a lady-or-tiger kind of cop out ending. I really, seriously would have been fine with either choice, so long as the author actually made the choice and then justified it. It would have felt a more complete story if I didn't have to guess for myself, and I wouldn't have felt cheated out of a proper ending. My guess, of course, is that she went with the duke because of the bigger title and because of the two heroes his POV came first.

Listen to it instead of reading it. It's the kind of densely packed book that you can either lose yourself in or get tired of quickly. Its description of Hopkins and the scientists involved in the flu research is captivating, although laudatory in the extreme.

The ending made me kind of sad

Although the story starts off slowly, the characters and situations of this novel grip you and keep you hanging on until the end. It's one of those "you will laugh; you will cry" novels that alter your perspective on life and make you grateful for what you have.

Bir başka hoş küçük hikaye! Kalbim çok küçük bir çocuğum. ;-) Bayan Moppet'in çizimlerini çok seviyorum!
