I have been wanting to read this book for awhile but for whatever reason have not gotten around to it until now. I found this book to be a refreshing change of pace, and while I can't say I agree with everything in the book I can defiantly relate to a great deal of it. It is very honest and that is it's strength. At points you might forget you are even reading and feel more like you are just having a conversation with the author. You get the sense by the end of the book that he is a friend that you can't wait to have another conversation with.

This book is masterful. I am an English grad student and a bit of a literary snob. Atwood is one of a handful of living writers that I really, really enjoy. This novel juggles several different plot lines, and it is truly delightful the way they all collide in the end.

This book was good but was an overview of previously read material. Some new facts but as much as has been written about the subject about the only thing you get is a little more complete cronology of events. I would still read in any case.

This has become one of my favorite books. I read it for my book club. It's an extremely intricate and complex time travel story of a man/boy and a woman/girl and those they know. A love story told through time. It can be challenging to figure this one out but it came together beautifully. I don’t want to give away any of the ingenious plot, as I found it so much fun to determine for myself what was going on.

I love Chabon and this book is a prime example of why. Take a weird historical could have been...in this case Jews resettled in Alaska as part of some weird suggestion via the US Congress during WWII...and add in a whole lotta noir. I loved it.

This book was significantly better than its predecessor (Churchill: Study of Greatness). Surprisingly it was in a better order, not themed based and it explained his personality in greater detail. I still say that Manchester has the best Churchill biography.
