I would like to have given this book 2.5 stars because I didn’t necessarily like it nor was I neutral to it. I think the thing that bothered me the most about it was that the author repeatedly told about his uses with and growing of marijuana in a manner that eluded that he was cool for it or that it gave him some sense of street cred for it. I suppose this just rubbed me the wrong way, it could just be me. Oh and he uses the word vicissitude more times that Ayn Rand uses self-immolation in all her writings combined.

My hair dresser recommended this book. I enjoyed it so much, my husband read it and so did 2 of our friends. Now the 4 of us are reading the series together. Of the 4 books I've read in the series I like them in this order 1)Outlander 2)Voyageur 3)Drums of Autumn and 4)Dragonfly in Amber.

A true classic, this book has more allusions and critical analysis possible than most books (with the obvious exception of The Crying of Lot 49). It also happens to be a most melancholy love story, and begs the question of exactly who we all are when we happen to forget ourselves.

I have always been "interested" why the story of Doc Holliday, Wyatt Earp and the OK corral has survived through history...Although I have never been interested in it enough to read history books on it....I was hoping if I read fiction, it may be able to keep me interested to figure it out. The story was good, flowed really well and was written well, but I still wasn't interested enough to really get into the book.
