Held my breath through the whole thing. My God, the cruel things people would do in their ambition for status and power! It being written in first-person, from the sister's point of view, makes it all the more suffocating and too real. I couldn't sleep and now that I've finished am shaking knowing better the history of the Boleyn family and Anne's terrible end. Now, today in 2011, I have to wonder about the absurd expectations and pressures that could be put on the bride-to-be for the current royal. Crazy. I like this author's writing style so will be looking for another of her historical fictions: The Constant Princess (about Katherine of Aragon, the Queen that Anne unseated).
