I love the books but this was my least favorite. I felt like I was waiting for Edward to come back to me the whole time I was reading and at page 377 I was getting very pissed that he wasn't back yet.

Griselda leaves England in search of her horse, Philomenia, who was requisitioned for service in WW1. The book tells Philomenia's story of the battles she was in during the War and the horse's subsequent life in Egypt. It also describes Griselda's challenge to find her horse. The story was interesting, but the writing was a little choppy.

Its hard to review this book because I know whatever I say won't even cover it. A comical romance, Jane Austen's book is layered with her hidde humor among the rules and etiquettes of a middle class society. Where most women are feather brains and primped up for a respectable, available man to marry, Elizabeth Bennet stands alone seeking love, and finding it in one of the most unlikely people.

Nothing too spectacular here, but a standard picture book with drawings of unusual animals and good description. Unlike some of the DK books, you could probably actually read all of the writing to a child without losing your voice. My partner would prefer it with photographs (like DK), but I like the drawings.
