In The Countinuous Atonement, Brad Wilcox helps readers to view Christ's atonement for our sins from a different perspective. I've always thought of Jesus's sacrifice as a one-time event with eternal blessings, but now I see it as an ongoing relationship with my Savior. I especially liked Wilcox's message on grace and works: We don't do good works to earn the Lord's grace; our works are merely a natural extension if we accept His grace and allow it to change us. For someone who feels inadequate every day, The Continuous Atonement was an encouraging and inspiring read.

It tried so hard to separate itself from other business books, but I found it to be redundant and recalcitrant about the poor research in "Good to Great" . (Personally, didn't really care for that book either.) Message gleaned from the book: There are so many business books out there that try to correlate specific practices with success and this book emphasizes that it is practically impossible to prove a causal relationship for a simple prescription to multi-billion dollar status. If you are doing many things correct (keep the customer happy, have a strong leader, etc.), it is impossible to say what element of your business would lead to your success. Best thing is to try to do your best always, do what is right, and with luck, you may be the next wonder CEO.

I'm generally not a huge fan of prequels, but this is good. It very nicely ties together some of the things you read later on in the Tripod trilogy. Definitely worthy of reading if you're a fan of the Tripod books.

This is a kids book by the same author as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and James and the Giant Peach. As opposed to those books, this one is pretty much set in a regular world although it still has wonderful imagination and spirit. The real beauty in this book is the relationship between the father and son. It is written in such a pure, joyful way that it made the whole book magical.
